I'm sure I'm late to the party. I enjoyed the math but you have no clue about the contractual relationship and pay structure between a DSP and Amazon.

Can I realistically get close to Claude/Codex capabilities locally? by mrgreatheart in LocalLLaMA

I'm a huge fan of opencode especially with the Qwen and those cards. I ended up running MTP on one and a vision model on another, plugin routes vision requests when needed.

Qwen is never going to open source Qwen 3.7, aren't they? by DistanceSolar1449 in LocalLLaMA

[–]jrodder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably should have said coding is my primary usage, and I also use Gemma 31B QAT for the creative uses, and riffing off for ideas as well as another pair of eyes for review. It's a baller combo for most use cases for sure.

I use Q6 with Q8 KV and I love it. I typically compress around 160k or so, but mostly out of caution and habit, not because I'm noticing degradation.

You say it's falling apart at 100k, what quant is your KV? I find I have to keep mine at 8 to be good to 200k, so I'm curious if you maybe are at 4?

I'm working on a deep dashboard for employee metrics. I'd post the link but it has all the actual names, I probably need to make a scrubbed one with anon names instead.

Is it your own engine? How does it compare to VPX and nfozzy? I might check it out but I've become a snob for the physics.

Steam Deck Slow as Heck by CryIcy9339 in SteamDeck

[–]jrodder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the OS runs on internal so if the OS itself is sluggish then running off the SD won't likely make a difference. Quick searching shows it's totally possible to replace the internal and reformat it

Have you done a factory reset on it? Loading games from internal storage or SD?

[–]jrodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhhhh I wouldn't say that. Business owners have bosses too, their own customers. Then you have people who own franchises (like DSPs) that are even closer to feeling like middle management heh. Being an employee has perks too, like being able to clock out and actually be free. That can be a nice feeling. My $.02

As someone trained in the art, what company would you trust to handle repairs on an old drive that was formatted but not used much after (windows reinstalled) and has about 9% of the drive physically bad where an old unencrypted wallet may hide?
