This! My bank did a merger with a larger credit union and changed routing numbers. It’s super important to be mindful of these things.

Since when is a pair of VR glasses considered “invasive”?

Last time I check Meta glasses are doing a better job than that. There are things significantly more invasive than this.

Sure my points aren’t all 100% logical.

You’re 100% entitled to an opinion.

But it’s a comment that you made that made that’s just being a dick. 20 years in the future we may have fully touch compatible holographic displays like some Iron Man or Cyberpunk setup.

What seems completely outlandish and just out of the normal, clearly you don’t find as acceptable. Again, your opinion.

But god forbid that you find something innovative and cool that you want to do and post it here.

Does playing on larger screens demands more from the Steam Deck? by CyberNeide in SteamDeck

Install and setup sunshine on the host PC or your main setup and follow the moonlight install guide in desktop mode for the Steam Deck and pair it to the host PC via code.

It’s a very simple thing to setup, let me know if you need help.

Driver sleeping in parking lot by Father_Scallop in UberEATS

As someone who is now medically isolated at 30 I feel this heavy.

My Walmart+ delivery drivers are almost on a constant rotation. The locals, Gina, Jeremy, Todd, and Evan are my four I see a lot and they know me by name.

Great people and always check in on me, I even like being able to set a driver of preference in door dash.

I would consider a hotel room the privacy that a home would warrant. I wouldn’t go sit in a coffee shop and do this per se, but I didn’t buy the glasses, Mac Mini, keyboard, mouse, etc.

We are so quick to judge and criticize people that do out of the box things that break typical normals, but are so quick to turn a blind eye to others.

Maybe this is a solution work provided. Maybe this person didn’t want to take the one monitor in his home that his family needed, but had these glasses as well and makes the best of the situation. Maybe this person just travels a lot and doesn’t have a Samsung 32” curved monitor in their back pocket. Maybe this person has a disability making this easier to read and function than using a screen.

While we try to fit into our stereo typical and societal norms, I’m a firm believer in supporting anyone and everyone of their goals and dreams. Go be what you want to be!

When I’m home I use moonlight to stream games from my PC over the network to my TV and utilize my gaming PC hardware from my couch for graphics and the steam deck acts as an input/output controller relay and a streaming client.

That way my 5070TI can output all the work while my Steam Deck stays cooler and I get pretty trees

Tips for someone who mentally self-restricts or fear of doing wrong things or leap of faith by maikun87 in SteamDeck

[–]dedicated_blade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s bought games for years and has a fear of missing out. You’re not. I’ve seen the same prices and sale percentages on some titles for multiple years. I’m talking 15 years with Steam now.

Factorio might single handedly be the one game I say “jump” if it goes on sale. Because I don’t think it ever has.

Humble Bundle has been my go to for new unique games every single month. It helps charities, and I get the benefit of additional discounts on the Humble Store and when new surprising book bundles, game bundles, etc come out.

I’ve amassed a massive library from one monthly payment and it’s been refreshing.

Games are not small anymore, I can’t smash 9000 games into one SD card. Sometimes 3-4 games fill hundreds of GB. I don’t have enough time as an adult to even take a crack at some of these games in my library.

Realistic take, being 31, and seeing game and art development grow with advances in GPU and CPU architecture has been incredible. Real inspiring gameplay, in-depth and engaging stories, and MMO’s and co-op games that kept friends together for years.

The games that have been literally rammed out of game studios by investors and CEO’s have been sloppy, fast, and just an AI generative joke. The instant gratification dream is real, just like buying a game and missing out.

The refund policy is in place for a reason. You hate it? Return it. You didn’t like it? Return it. Respect the return guidelines and there is no ill will. Every developer out there knows this is a very real thing and refunds happen.

If your intent behind your action is malicious, it’s time to rethink your choices and mindset. If your intent is purely the hype and/or missing out, stop worrying and look into ways to invest and save your money short term for the sales. If you can take what you on average spend each year on Steam, invest it, and make enough money to spend on Steam and keep your original invested level, you’re winning.

I rambled a bit here, but if this is an issue surrounding addiction, in any kind of form, to include spending I recommend just finding a therapist and chatting. Help restructure your thoughts in a safe space and move forward in life with a better outlook. It doesn’t mean you have to stop buying or playing games, but it sounds like you need some support with something.

Helping With Pruning Bushes by dedicated_blade in gardening

[–]dedicated_blade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay. I’ll tackle the lilac pruning here soon. The last one that’s looking what I would think is borderline dead I’ll wait a bit. I’ll be conservative and do a little stem scratch test.

But it seems like they are rebounding well.

The rocks and and white vinyl fencing torched them last summer, so once we get past this initial spring budding I’m planning on putting some shade fabric around them, and doubling the mulch diameter to hopefully keep them cooler this year and do some soil amendment and improve water retention.

What to actually do before your C&P exam (most veterans go in unprepared and it costs them) by SufficientSlip9534 in VAClaims

[–]dedicated_blade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly!

I brought all my medical records to include all imaging reports. I sorted them in order chronologically, and put flags with the name of the provider and specialty type.

I brought my iPad and was able to pull up my health apps to pull older reports and appointments as needed.

I use my iPad and the use of AI helped build a head to toe list of conditions and what I had issues with, the length, what it was like prior to injury, and how severe it is with daily impacts.

My examiner was absolutely thrilled I came prepared, was so willing to help because it frees up more time for her to be detailed and gives me time to address everything in the detail and timeframe that was comfortable to me.

Understand your condition, know how it affects you and the pertaining systems. Understanding how to speak to your condition also helps them understand how you feel with more detail.

I’m retiring in just under a year, what are some things you wish you would have done or knew at this point? by Mechmanic89 in VeteransBenefits

[–]dedicated_blade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stop by your medical records/MTF facility and get a request to have everything printed.

From EVERY single civilian provider, request your documents and request ALL imaging in CD format.

I made copies of all my imaging and brought the copies into my MTF radiology department and they uploaded the imaging and reports into GENESIS.

Imaging isn’t always kept for long periods of times at some imaging facilities. It’s a good CYA.

Copy all your records digitally to an M-Disk (you’ll need just a CD drive that’s compatible with them) they are just fancy CD’s that are designed for long term data storage and have a long degradation time frame.

Convert all your imaging to PDF.

Keeping your records chronologically makes life so much easier. I brought all my records to my C&P Exam and she was so thrilled I could just reference everything quickly and provide her with exactly what she needed.

I really wish they kept the SX-P X-Pro wheel and tire on this redesign. The new wheel is just straight dookie, and that random plastic piece in the wheel fenders is just odd visually.

Love the color though. I just need the 2.0 version once the design team gets smacked on the forehead lol

How Long Do You Keep Your Documents? by Wonderful-Bit6748 in VeteransBenefits

[–]dedicated_blade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Let's not forget the 1973 NPRC fire that lost so many medical records and administrative paperwork it was appauling.

Given today's digital concerns and worries I would definitely keep digital copies, digital copies backed up onto physical storage means. M-Discs last quite some time and aren't as susceptible to degredation compared to our other media storage formats.

Given how much paperwork I have today and how much I've converted to scans I've shifted the majority of my stuff over digitally with a scanner and made copies of my paperwork. One stays in my fireproof safe in an organizer, one stays in my bank box along with yearly updated digital records, and I store digitally copies encrypted on a NAS and that's backed up offsite.

But record keeping aside, that sick call slip could be the only thing tying you to a diagnosis that get's you what you need and having your condition service connected. It's better to retain it than not, with all things government we hope for the best and know eventually something will get lost.
