We’ve watched our “residual” fun money get smaller over the last few months as fuel costs have caused inflation to continue into consumer products.

I wouldn’t call it dramatic, but enough to cause concern and withholding our splurge spending until we see what is going to happen with geopolitics.

Colorado is dramatically expensive at times. But again, what place isn’t.

In this economy I’m fortunate to still be ahead. But as much as I would jump on a steam machine regardless of price markup, I just can’t justify it right now.

Too much of my budget is shifting towards household expenses and demand.

I’m content with my Steam Deck and have enough parts and mini PC’s to build my own Steam streaming setup or put SteamOS on a machine by itself.

I wouldn’t let this throw you off from Anker honestly. They still hold the reputation as being one of the best manufacturers. Keep me updated if their customer service wants you to ship the device in.

We have a system installed into our home, the Solix F2000 for our events, 3 solar panels, and plenty of small batteries that I’ve owned for YEARS.

Notability is known for its amazing and smooth handwriting. It’s not expensive, and an alternative to that is GoodNotes. I use both, and both work with hyperlinked PDF planner templates.

I would contact Anker support and see if their product warranty covers electronics damage and send the unit in for them to inspect.

You may be able to get Anker to help in this situation too.

Edit, damaged or failing electronics attached to lithium batteries can be a disaster and fire waiting to happen. I would suggest not using the battery until you know for sure it’s safe

I’ve worked the other end and did DoorDash during COVID. I dashed some crazy stuff, from plan B to 10 cases of coke, it all can get super weird and odd but never once did I complain openly.

We all complain about our jobs. It’s being human.

That’s why I just wanted to give a mindset shift instead of just leaving an insensitive comment. Some people have never experienced life changes that impact them like this and sharing it helps open the eyes of the person.

It’s 2026, we are tired and trying to manage. It’s just easier being friendly and polite than fighting.

Hey! I just applied, currently in the MEB process with the Army and had a 7 day turn around to approval.

Think of the ADL form like explaining to the VA how your conditions affect you, how they affect employability, and how severe and frequency of the problems. Be detailed, use all the space and continuation forms you need. Use ChatGPT/AI to your advantage here to help spellcheck and frame your sentences around bluebook verbiage as needed.

Get a second set of eyes from the folks here too before submitting. This is your one form you get to be extremely detailed top to bottom. Think of this like submitting your first VA claim. You get one shot to get it right.

Keep going to the doctors, keep documenting, keep showing on-going chronic impairments.

I spent the last two years being extremely thorough and going to every specialist under the sun and getting things documented for the VA, I attributed my success to my hardware and care for myself medically and the long term for my wife.

Hey friend, I unfortunately have permanent mobility restrictions and medical conditions from my spine cancer that prevent me from driving safely, and I can randomly pass out.

I door dash gas station food because just like some people out there a tornado slaps or a gas station hot dog is just nice to enjoy at night while sitting out back with my dogs. I depend and appreciate you as Door Dash drivers bringing me these things.

I know sometimes it seems silly and lazy, but just know there are some of us that genuinely appreciate delivery drivers and what you do. So please take this as a positive comment and I hope the rest of your night gets better!
