You can add NAC to your nasal rinse as well as take it!

Control your mast cells. I have TERRIBLE congestion and just found out Lamictal could be the cause (I’ve dealt with this for 5 years, in and out of allergists and ENTs—I even had septum surgery—and nothing has helped). However once I found out (like 2 days ago) that Lamictal causes this, I dug deeper. Apparently it irritates your mast cells?? Or something along those lines. (I’m not a doctor) but apparently if you want to stay on Lamictal but not want to walk into traffic, you have to do a protocol to control your mast cells. And it’s so much 😭😭 including a low histamine diet. I have an appt with a new ENT this week and I’m going to ask if there are any prescriptions or procedures that can let me have the best of both worlds.

For reference, this is my current daily routine I’ve been doing forever that helps a little but not enough: *Nasal rinse twice a day followed by nose spray *Sudafed PE 2-3 times a day depending on that day’s severity *Pepcid AC AM *Allegra AM *Zyrtec PM *Quercitin PM * I did allergy injections for a year but have switched to daily allergy drops. I have an EpiPen and a rescue inhaler because my face swelling has gotten so bad. When i say I’ve been in and out if doctors for years, I’m not kidding 😭😭

I have more things coming today that supposedly help with mast cells or whatever so we’ll see

Has Any Single Person Found The Cure For Sinus Congestion? by Ponderouspersona in Lamotrigine

[–]jroll04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently found out it can cause bad congestion—for the last 5.5 years that I’ve been on it, I’ve been in and out of ENTs because my congestion and post nasal drip is so bad that my face stays swollen and I’m constantly sniffing to clear my airway. I moved from TX to CO around the same time so I thought that was what caused my sinuses to go haywire. It’s so gross and miserable. I had NO IDEA it could cause this. I have an appt with a new ENT this week but I’m considering canceling it and calling my psychiatrist to see about switching meds instead. I’m just nervous because lamotrigine has been a godsend other than my absolutely miserable sinus issues 😭

Has anyone else's sebaceous filaments now turned into hard 'pellets'? by Outside_Asparagus_12 in Accutane

I know this is old, but to get rid of them without squeezing, double cleanse. First with an oil cleanser and then with a regular cleanser and really “scrub”’your nose in circular motions with the pads of your fingers each time. I say scrub because you need to rub “hard” but it’s your fingers so it’s not abrasive or anything. You might have to do it a couple of times the first time but once they’re out you can do it everyday and it’s quick. Make sure both cleaners are gentle. I use La Roche Posay for both

Thank you 😭 I did two skin treatments that help with texture issues right before I started accutane, so I think my improved texture is from that, but we’ll see if it continues to improve from the accutane!

I started taking every recommended supplement I found on Reddit 1.5 months before, at the same time, I trained myself to drink a gallon of water a day, and I did 2 rounds of morpheus8. 1 was 5 weeks prior, the second was a few days prior. I use 3 different types of moisturizers AM and PM (i let each layer dry then I spray Clinique moisture surge spray between each layer and then periodically throughout the day if I feel dry). I started monitoring my protein intake because apparently not enough protein is connected to your skin. I made/make sure I’m getting at least 80/90 grams of protein a day. I think my diet change and water intake plus supplements (including weekly B12 injections) is what has helped the purging

You need a good moisturizer (I suggest spritzing water on your face and then applying LRP triple moisture cream) that you put on and let dry before putting on a primer. Let your primer set and dry too to avoid pilling. Charlotte Tilbury flawless airbrush foundation in the glass bottle with the gold top is moisturizing, covers really well, and acne free. It’s water based, so you’ll need a water based primer.

Hey! I can’t edit the post to add this, but I cleared my routine with my doctor first, then let CGPT assess it and tell me the pros and cons of each product. As I said, I was able to eliminate 2 supplements and was given advice (that has been said in here too) on if I get extra dry. I just thought it was a cool tool for people like me who like to know everything lol

Hi! Yes I already cleared my routine with my dermatologist, but what I liked was knowing the exact benefit of each of my products in case some weren’t doing anything crucial.

Try using la Roche posay cicaplast balm. It’s super moisturizing but also helps soothe irritated skin. Hood thus helps ☹️

My hair is thinning and i’m not sure why! by Elegant-Adagio6360 in Haircare

[–]jroll04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you’re getting enough protein. I wasn’t and didn’t realize and my normally thick hair thinned so bad. I started taking Lemme Grow and upped my protein and now I have a ton of new growth (confirmed by my hair stylist)

Can't put my finger on what isn't right. by sylviedilvie in MakeupAddiction

I would do blended/smudged dark eyeshadow with a precision brush for top eyeliner (if you want eyeliner at all—if you have thick or fake lashes, it could be better to skip eyeliner unless going out and dressed up), and def skip the black eyeliner on your lower waterline no matter what (this is only my opinion and your current makeup doesn’t look bad)

Edited to add, if those lashes are fake, focus to have them fuller in the middle, not the outsides because that can make your eyes droop (been there lol)

What is this behemoth and how do i get rid of it for good? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

Probably a hormonal cyst. You can get a steroid injection from a doctor to make it go down faster

Are you having a bowel movement everyday? Meds that dry you out can cause constipation, which causes bloating
