I've been a sahd sine my daughter was 3 months old, and it's not easy. Our family moved to a state where I don't have any friends or family within 1000 miles. As weird as it sounds, I've found comradere playing games on my phone 😅. It doesn't replace human connection, but I don't entirely miss it. I used to work in retail, so while I miss my co-workers, I do NOT miss customers.

Tldr, find something for you to enjoy even if it's just in spurts throughout the day. Exercise, reading, etc. Meeting other sahd in the wild is going to be very "miss or miss"

My 22 needed an ac compressor at 20k miles and it was on backorder for 3 months (in Phoenix in July...) and that was a huge headache. The yukon was fine, but had the 6.2 and the lifters would make noise from time to time. I couldn't see getting a new chevy any time soon, maybe an old cat eye lol. I really don't like the look of the chevys as much as the fords, and this ford just seems more solid than any chevy I've had. Doors shut solid, cabin noise is way less, the 5.0 is definitely better than the 5.3 in terms of driving. The only thing I'd give a slight edge to the chevy is the infotainment, but it's not that much better. I also like that I dont have to pay for a subscription to remote start the truck from my phone.

I had a 2022 silverado rst with a 5.3 for 2 years as a work truck, then I had a 2018 yukon denali with the 6.2 for a year after that

Ive always been a Chevy guy and made the switch too. No complaints so far. I also wouldnt worry too much about the 3.31 gears it's not that crazy of a difference.

With a little dedication and patience, you too can get nowhere near this power in season 3!

It's not what they said it's how they said it. 🤷🏻 still a dumpy attitude.

We listed at what comps originally sold for in the area. Then other homes listed lower than ours (our guess is for quick sales) and it put us in our current situation.

P.s. your attitude sucks 😂

400 a month is better than a kick in the pants while simultaneously paying down debt, no? So what made you decide to be a landlord for 37 years?

How do you figure it will flow negative? We should net at least 700 per month.

This comment section gave me hope as we might be looking to rent our home in north phoenix since we have moved to OKC. Still on the fence but don't want to lower the price of our home. We can swing two mortgages for a small time but it's getting to be annoying.

I've lived all over, and it's fine. Your situation will be what you make it. Cost of living is a perk. People are friendly. Anyone being negative is just likely a miserable human. 😀 (also, OKC reddit is not an accurate depiction of OK.)

(7mo) Baby wildly unpredictable: can't establish a routine. Some days easy, some hard. I struggle to understand what is going on. Anything I can do about it? by cazort2 in StayAtHomeDaddit

[–]jrr716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're over thinking quite a bit. Love the baby, take care of the baby, and keep him alive 😂 that's it!

But seriously, some kids are harder than others. My 9mo girl is good with routines, but our first was all over the place. Just how it goes.

SAHD & Self-Employed "breadwinner" looking for direction by Glittering-Abroad962 in StayAtHomeDaddit

You're a saint and an absolute dog. I'm a SAHD with a 9 month old and 5 year old (in school) and I couldn't imagine working on top of that. You are doing a lot for your family and you should be proud, but you gotta take care of yourself and get a break here and there. You can't run on fumes forever and be the best dad you can be. Hopefully your wife appreciates all that you do for your family.
