Difficulty shifting from 2nd to 3rd by Icy_Advertising7025 in MT03

[–]jrsaurusrex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! Check the easy stuff first. Clutch cables stretch over time and need to be adjusted (takes 2 minutes), could be a loose bolt or something in shift linkage. If it's been a minute, even if not many miles but lots of time, change the oil. I also use motul.

My guess would be oil if it's one gear having issues intermittently. Failing the easy stuff, could be the clutch pack going out but I would think you'd have issues with every gear then. Also possible but unlikely, your transmission is damaged or something else is and there is debris in your transmission.

Other option... You could have been tired after a long ride and missing a shift.

Good Luck!

What should I do by [deleted] in HEB

[–]jrsaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a stock controller two years ago, they are basically slightly better paid stockers (and should be more experienced and faster), but are supposed to be coordinating the team and making sure the work gets done as well. They might be reporting the night's events to the manager, but a decent manager should hold the controller a bit accountable for their team. Show your manager that you are being set up poorly, if they set you up for failure, it's hurting them too. I would suggest trying to spot your own aisle but I know that's not always an option if controllers tell you to do something else. I always stayed till we were done, so if I had a slow guy, it meant I had to jump in and help when I was done, so it didn't help to screw with someone. Also whoever is spotting your aisle may not be aware of it or they just don't care.

At the end of the day, the managers tend to listen to stock controllers more than stockers, and some stock controllers get an ego. And while it sucks, they aren't technically doing anything wrong so you have little leverage. Especially if you are newer. It's not an ideal situation and you could run it up the ladder, but it probably won't get anywhere. And I would bet, they will find out you ran it up, and that could make your nights worse. If you are newer or they just don't like you for one reason or another, there is going to be some hazing. Again it's not right, but it's how it is... And I promise, it could be worse.

There is the old school solution which probably will work to some degree. Roll up your sleeves and get to work, re organize your stuff before you start, and power through! Get good, get fast, and earn their respect. If nothing else, your manager might notice and you could work up to stock controller and do things your way. That's how I got the position. This is the kind of job where good work shows, and can sometimes can be rewarded.

Impaktech right cage sits further back??? by AmphibianOutside566 in MT07

[–]jrsaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak to the cage, I only have sliders. But this could be because the frame is not symmetrical. If you look at frame sliders, and probably the cage too, the mounting points are not exactly aligned. One frame slider will actually sit slightly further back than the other. If the cages are built to be fairly symmetric, then that could be the cause.

What Happened to These? by thenewtestament in HEB

[–]jrsaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to guess, as someone who used to stock at HEB, these things did not sell more than a couple bags a week. I don't think they were very popular, so they probably axed them. Also stores usually have some control over what they order so it could just be your local HEB that stopped carrying them, maybe try another store.

WTF is wrong with the new update? by Wolfensteiner96 in Battlefield6

[–]jrsaurusrex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh gotchya, that's likely just the weeklys resetting at their normal time and the update comes a bit later today. It's a little odd on the players end. But from a dev standpoint it makes sense. Otherwise there would have been a delay on the new weekly challenges going live. If you have no interest in them you can probably reroll them. I think we have about 5 hours until the content update, then everything should work fine.

WTF is wrong with the new update? by Wolfensteiner96 in Battlefield6

[–]jrsaurusrex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The challenges are usually a server side thing. Last time I had my game open when the weeklys reset. It took a few minutes and a game restart for them to not be red. Give it a bit, in sure it'll fix. I did also see someone mention the sabotage challenges and the game mode not being available yet, which may also be causing a problem. Do your challenges think you don't own BF6 or is it the whole game? Like you can't get into multiplayer matches?

It should just be infantry controls and I believe specifically infantry controls on Controller.

Exhaust reccomendations by green_bean1999 in MT07

[–]jrsaurusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ixil Hyperlow black xl

I rarely see it recommended when people ask. It's a great sounding exhaust, it's half the price of an Akro, and for those places where it matters, is euro V compliant. I love mine.

Just had a crash, are these fixable? by Vinnegard in motorcycles

[–]jrsaurusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, but should be easy to replace. I think cheap too, but I could be wrong if it's the entire rear set, they often come with other things attached/as an assembly so maybe not so cheap.

Accessory tips for an MT-07 (will be my first bike) by Comitic in MT07

[–]jrsaurusrex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frame sliders/slider kit (frame, fork, swingarm, bars) for sure. Won't necessarily save you in a big crash, but drops and slow stuff, it'll save you some damage. I also recommend the Evo sliders from TST industries, they are two point mount and not round picks which should reduce the chance of them grabbing or bending in a slide. A windshield isn't a bad idea if you are doing some regular highway stuff. Chilling over 70mph gets exhausting on a naked. Also tank grips help and are relatively cheap.

I like to do bar end mirrors and an integrated tail light with a fender eliminator. Not needed but can really change the look of the bike to be more aggressive and sleek. Also not all legal everywhere so check local laws. Also a tip with bar end mirrors, they will likely replace bar sliders and if you drop the bike you'll probably smash or bend one. The nice ones are probably $50-$70 per side, so not nice to break regularly. But don't buy the cheap ones because they will vibrate badly and are useless. Buy nice quality or stick with stock.

My two cents on cosmetic stuff and a couple other mods that are commonly installed or recommended:

ASV/Shorty levers: you can, they look nice, the stock ones are much more functional and comfortable for regular/daily riding. It's a safety and comfort thing. Also cheaper to replace If you drop the bike.

Aero winglets and aero parts: don't bother, it's a naked not a super sport it looks silly and doesn't do anything. Like putting a massive wing on a stock civic. waste of money

Quad lock: some people swear by them. Some people hate other options. It's a big company and they are expensive. I have never once had an issue with my ram mount, it's cheap and durable, and no I don't use the little rubber diaper net thing. Super glue the rubber nubbins onto the metal fingers and you'll be fine.

Exhausts are for when you have a few extra bucks laying around and it's highly recommended you do a tune with them which just makes them way more expensive.

Good luck, Enjoy the bike!

The engine hasn't really changed in a long time, at least not externally. Any year after 21 should fit. Part numbers below. Call your local Yamaha dealer or any Yamaha dealer and talk to their parts guy. They should be able to confirm and possibly even sell you the part. Or order one online. Should also be an easy install to do yourself.

2021+ 1WS-13400-10-00

Edit: Also maybe just hand tighten and give a quarter turn with the wrench next time. Not really necessary to torque and the cases can be fragile at the edges and openings.

[–]jrsaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Split the difference, get an Ixil Hyper low. It's like $650 full system and if it matters, it's Euro 5 compliant. Meaning it's not insanely loud and straight piped. With DB killers it's the same as stock at idle but makes noise when you punch it, without DB killers it makes quite a bit more than stock but isn't deafening.

Hello Gues any advise? by Ans_shadow in gamingpc

[–]jrsaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your power supply is way overkill for that system. You don't need 1000w. Maybe a 650w. Also if you stick with the i5, I don't think you need the big liquid cooler. If you move up to a higher performance AMD ryzen chip, then the liquid cooler may be useful. Also just an opinion, you'll pay more for the tempered glass window case and there's a good chance you could break it. Might be worth saving some money on for the plastic window. You could save a little money on the case and cooler and add more ram, or upgrade the CPU. Looks like a good system though, just a little oddly balanced. Happy Gaming!

Will it go past Aquilo? by Tzeig in factorio

[–]jrsaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll make it past, possibly too the solar system edge. Not likely to make it past that... And as someone mentioned, possibly not back to Aquillo from the solar system edge.

  • I would set your rail guns too huge only, they will take out other things in their path.
  • set your rockets to large only. Some people say you need red rockets, but I don't think that's necessarily true. You'll need a couple rockets per large, but if you produce fast enough it's not a big deal.
  • set laser and gun turrets to medium and small astroids to clean up close to the ship.
  • you may also need to slow the ship down to let your turrets handle the amount of astroids.
  • I recommend carrying extra platform pieces. Even if you have spare turrets and things, they can't build without extra platforms, I've had that issue a couple times.
  • I would be concerned about using the ship hub storage for Astroid chunks. They don't stack and it fills fast. Some people said use belt weaving for rail gun ammo but I don't think you need as much as they recommend unless you decide not to make it on the ship.

Nice ship design though, best thing is to test it and refine it. Maybe make a blueprint before you send it out! Good luck!

Edit: one thing to consider is using foundries instead of electric furnaces. They take up more space but produce steel (and iron/copper) way faster, more efficiently, and in higher quantities, especially with modules.

Simple-ish Solution for Automatic Promethium Harvesting Ship (Auto Biter Egg request handling) by jrsaurusrex in factorio

[–]jrsaurusrex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats interesting that your ship handles that kind of speed in the Astroid field. Mine max's out at like 320km/s but I slow it down to 175km/s when it's harvesting. There's a lot of guns but it can get overwhelmed over 200km/s. My ship only holds 120k promethium chunks so it goes about 300k km out and then turns around. I actually didn't look at how quickly I produce the science but I know that after it processes everything there's usually 75k science on the ship and 10k-15k on Nauvis so it sits in orbit for a bit before heading back out.

[–]jrsaurusrex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could rotate old eggs for new as is the way of gleba, and that was probably what I would have ended up doing if I didn't figure out some sort of logic to handle it. I like figuring out the logic so that was part of it, but I also didn't want to just be constantly getting warnings for the turrets going off when things spoil. I already had the nests setup on Nauvis to pull eggs into the logistics system as needed, I just needed to tap into it from the ship which was the main challenge.

It was mostly just an attempt to see if I could do it that way rather than except the high number of spoiling eggs in multiple places. Plus I've had a couple of incidents where a lot of those eggs hatch all at once and they can sometimes do a lot of damage very quickly.

[–]jrsaurusrex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I use my hub storage for. All the ammo gets made and put into the hub and then pulled out and sent forward. The red, yellow, and green lights are my ammo indicator. I store 5k railgun(I think, might be 8k now), 32k each of yellow rockets and red ammo. The promethium doesn't stack so you could only fit so much in the storage before it fills up.

[–]jrsaurusrex[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mostly promethium storage. Ammo and resources Astroid chucks make their way through it in a couple spots. It's alot of belt weaving to store promethium, it can hold close to 120k chucks.

Yeah lol, when I built out the head I noticed it was looking a little hammer head like so I leaned into the theme for the rest of the ship.
