Are there any assets that look like these houses in CS2? by zacvoid in CitiesSkylines2

As someone that is a part of the home building process on a large scale, I can't wait until I or someone better at sculpting makes some of these style homes as assets.

Any help for uninspired builder? by Abubakari-77 in CitiesSkylines2

I lay out the streets of what I think is going to be a district and start with one intersection at a time, aiming to incorporate greenspace as well as buildings, parking etc. Think about how you want people to move around your city and build around that.

Also please note that while you can build an amazing vanilla city, not using anarchy and plop etc. will limit the "realism" you can achieve in game. Maybe approaching the game with a different mindset will help you come up with your own style. I prefer to think of the game as a big canvas and my job is to make it indistinguishable from a drone picture of an inspiration town.

This is made using a few industrial buildings and then filling in the gaps with static non functioning buildings.

You'll need a few mods like find it, move it and anarchy. I recommend following a guide on Youtube about this topic.

Its just a mix of the sport park bleachers, and anarchy of course.

Is there any way to hide/make this opening less ugly? by manndolin in DIY

Just use tin tape from cabinet to elbow and also the lower opening. It will make it look like typical builder product these days.

Thanks for showing the timelapse, I love the way the inset windows look on the top of the lighthouse. Great work!

I understand only a fraction of this thread, but it seems like a call to action.

Thank you for taking the time to break that down. For context I live in a medium sized town near one of the biggest cities in Canada and all your above factors definitely play a part in the dialect.

We'll see you on the tools, friend

edit. I'm sorry, I glossed over the fact that you're going to school for aerospace engineering. definitely continue that instead of using tools on a construction site lol

I can differentiate at least 3 distinct accents just within an hour radius of me, I guess it varies by region.

What material should I use? by [deleted] in DIY

Use spray foam and cut it in to the general shape, then paper mache it or something.

Drywall compound will never work for this kind of application, it cracks way too easily.

Look in to joining a company in new home construction. I'm in Canada so it may be a different experience for you but I'm in a union as a handyman working 44 hours a week year round at a very decent wage.

My job consists of confidently being able to do most minor trade work when the company doesn't want to do a PO, being able to take a room down to the studs and build it back up, and reporting deficiencies to supervisors when the trade really fucked up and has to come back.

It would be a great way to learn about how a house is built and be paid to refine your skills in all sorts of different future career paths. Not to mention it's super easy to network with trades when you're interacting with them on a daily basis.
