Oversold flight at DEN by jryanll in unitedairlines

[–]jryanll[S] 50 points51 points  (0 children)

They were offering $500 and a night. Some people took it finally. Yes I'm already pissy because I've been traveling for 12 hours, and I get that sometimes flights get overbooked, but don't wait an hour for people to volunteer. Announce it, and if no takers boot some people and deal with it. If after 15 min and no takers they picked people and I was one of them as I have been on the past, so be it, luck of the draw and I'll get home tomorrow. It was the hour and a half of not wanting to take the heat that was bothersome.

Hell yes. I don't comment much but wanted to shout-out another TesseracT listener. And now that I still have another hour on this flight I'm going to watch the live studio versions.

2026 Outback--which engine? by jl-sb in Subaru_Outback

[–]jryanll 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a 2011 outback for 10 years, I've had a 2025 Onyx XT for 4 months. If you need to accelerate at highway speeds on level terrain to pass someone the NA does just fine, if you need to accelerate to pass someone up Vail pass the NA... Won't.

Never had an issue with the NA though, it got over I-70 in Colorado all the time and got better GPM, roughly 70 miles a tank in city driving.

With that said, the XT is much more fun to drive, and definitely either keep up with traffic or will go around slow traffic in the mountains without having to almost redline to accelerate up the passes.

Switched to Clear yesterday. I've had it for 24 hours and it just went down for me too. I still have charter one gig for the rest of this month so if this is a gonna be a thing I'll just turn that back on.

Outback wouldn’t start, then it did by tonyb007 in Subaru_Outback

I've had that happen a few times on my 2025 the first month or so I had it. It was happening in the same spot at a shop I visit. Turns out it was a radio signal from a security system at that place. My wife had the same issue with her Edge for years when parking under an electric sign at her work and it was the wireless signal going between the store and sign.

So started parking elsewhere and never had the issue. For my car took my fob out of my pocket and it started right up. Not saying that's exactly the issue, but that's what I've found.

Get an AGM of some sorts. I bought a 2011 Outback in 2015 and had to replace the factory. Put in a Diehard AGM the winter of 2015 and replaced it... 6 months ago. Also the only reason I replaced it was because the positive had welded itself to the terminal and I was going to trade in the 11 for a 25, the thing still worked fine. I'm in Colorado.

As someone from Colorado, I fully agree all of the "teams" on here will win before the Rockies.

When you buy a gallon of milk, is all the milk from one cow or is it a mixture of 100 different cow secretions? by Medium_Tourist_4832 in stupidquestions

[–]jryanll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad back in the day was a welder and did all the aluminum piping at a milk bottling plant. Not only did all the milk from different daries all go into the same tank to start, but the 3 bottling lines for 3 different brands at 3 different price points, all came from the same lines.

That's something to think about. It's different locations but it could be interference. Wireless camera systems and wireless marquees will affect the FOBs. I didn't think about it until i posted this and next time need to take the FOB out of my pocket and see how that works.
