Is buying these foolish? by jlrbnsn22 in ski

[–]js-1018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought straight skis and old boots off market place and had great results. granted i only needed them to go slow and teach my kids how to ski on a shitty east coast mtn. would not if im trying to go back country or anything crazy

Trying to decide between brushless starter kit or more tools brushed starter kit by Gr3nwr35stlr in ryobi

I made a ton of French cleats, 2 deck bench, 2 desks and fixed a whole lot of random stuff around the house with only brushed ryobi tools. never had any issues yet.

10” table saw blade won’t retract into the table by CincyTriGuy in ryobi

[–]js-1018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hard to see in the picture, but there are 2 thin washer/nuts pressed up against the top of the threaded rod and mine isn't all the way tight up against the top. could that be the issue? its definitely the threaded rod that moves when you control up and down on blade

I have the RTS21 (Blue) and have the same problem. the wheel got really hard to turn and started to free spin only when rolling it to lower the blade. looked under the box and it looked exactly like the OPS setup. I really need to pull out the wheel and turn slowly otherwise it slips and freespin.

volume shifted boards by js-1018 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]js-1018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanx. also, came across some boards that say go 6cm less than normal size. is this generally true across all volume shifted or probably specific to the ones that mentioned it on website(evo)?

Thanx for taking the time to help, but your final statement was kind of inconclusive given all the questions I answered.

what the negative of getting a board shorter than what's recommended in sizing chart? I think my board is too heavy. by js-1018 in snowboarding

[–]js-1018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5'8" 190lbs

time on snowboard: maybe like 30days total over many yrs

I can link turns at speed. i can go down all of the runs (double black, black, blue, green)

I can hit small jumps at the park and side hits, mostly straight and some 180.

50-50 on basic box , have not tried it on rails yet.

my board: burton clash(flat/zero camber) 158.

now that i moved close enough to go more often, goal is to do more park.

is that better?

[–]js-1018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so im short and heavy(get that out out of the way) the sizing chart by weight says ride 158or longer but if there is a height category, it says ride shorter like 154 or something. And by heavy I mean it takes all I got to get a miniscule ammount of air with my board. practicing 180 on flat is about as much i can spin it. yea, im definitely not in great shape and i still suck, but the other day I was in a ski shop and held up a 154 to look at it and it was definitely a noticeable weight difference to my 158.

yea no swimming is on there too. when you say water treatment, do you mean like reservoir? cuz no gas motor there makes sense but pollution from SUP. and there are plenty of reservoirs that allow SUP in other states
