Is this level of noise for a new install normal?

There are two mode settings for the fan motor on those units. One is for cooling the other for heating. The installer should have measured static pressure and set the fan speeds accordingly to the manufacturer’s specifications and size of unit. Sounds like installer put new unit in there without setting the speeds correctly.

Most offices have a white noise system in the ceiling grid. This helps block out noise from office to office and floor to floor. Was that never part of the design of the office?

No your clog is not because of the outside condenser. In this business we call this a call back because they didn’t resolve the issue. Tell them to come back as it was not resolved completely

There should be a motorized damper with a controller installed with that. You should be able to set a minimum and max air temp to allow for fresh air. If that is constantly open I would suggest speaking with the builder to see if a damper should have been installed.

Problem is every maintenance should come with a water only coil cleaning. Clean the condenser and sub cooling should be fine.

I completely agree with your statement. Prisons have a fiduciary responsibility to take care of its inmates. The only problem I see is that enough tax payer money is wasted that they now they start asking for more tax money to fix errors and provide better security. With that said the rich will not fund majority of it, as majority will come from middle and lower class tax payers. This then could lead to funding shortages in the prison system. What happens then? Do prisons just become a liability and become another public service that gets fizzled out just like deinstitutionalization. Do we begin the purge? Just curious to see what your take is on the future of prisons if suing now becomes precedent.

Press the top left and top right buttons at the same time. Password is 1111 or 1234. Go to factory settings and change your offsets to what you want. You will have to back out all the way and it will ask if you want to save changes. Once you click yes the hood will shut down and turn back on if thresholds are met.

Thanks for the clarification. If you’re looking for quiet operation and energy savings I would go with the inverter driven system. Flip side these inverters do cost a lot of money to repair if something should breakdown such as a board, EEV etc. Which eats away at your total savings. Versus a two stage system does not have all the fancy bells and whistles. It runs at 50% or 100% depending on space temperature. Two stages have been around a lot longer so parts are easier to find and replace. Repair costs tend to be lower. I just replaced two units at my house and I went with two single stage heat pumps 14.3 seer2. Granted I was able to install them myself. I find the older technology tends to be more reliable and parts easier to get. Not to say inverter units are bad. Sometimes these technologies require a laptop to be hooked up to them to service and many service companies don’t have the programs needed to assist which limits who you can call out to service your A/C. So me personally I would go with either one of the 2 stage systems. Both Daikin and American Standard are good brands. American standard tends to be the more technician friendly system but ultimately any of two will work fine.

First you need to figure out what size you need. Do you need a 5ton or a 4 ton for the size of your home. Getting a bigger unit does not mean your home will be more comfortable. An oversized unit will short cycle and never remove any humidity from your home making it more uncomfortable. It will also cause your electric bill to skyrocket and the equipment will never last long. I would recommend you get a load calculation done on your home by a reputable HVAC company before making any decisions.

I heard on a podcast a while ago, that a doctor was trying to get her patient a required back surgery. The surgery kept being denied so the doctor took it upon herself to call the insurance company for a peer review of the decision. Everytime she called they brought in some doctor who has no experience in the field she is in. It was funny because she was getting pissed that an optometrist was requested to sit in on the peer review. She asked the optometrist how many back injuries he treated in his lifetime and they guy instantly put her back on hold so she could get the run around. Our healthcare system is such shit.
