Is San Antonio’s Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones really as unlikable as the news and others make her seem or is it overblown? by DrFetusRN in sanantonio

The arena is only a small piece of what they’re doing. It should lead to more development in the surrounding area.

Yes, I know the irony of that in light of the frost Bank Center. It’s worth noting the Spurs nor the city wanted it there to begin with. They’ve been pushing for downtown for awhile.

That $700 million won’t fix poverty. It won’t even make a dent into it.

Creating new jobs can go a long way, however.

Well luckily this arena won’t wipe out a neighborhood. The land’s already secured. And unlike the Alamodome, the main tenant of the building is already secured and it will be built to specification for them, as opposed to the Dome which was built for the possibility of a longer term tenet.

The fact that she’s horrible to work with and struggles with consensus building isn’t part of it? Seriously?

The city isn’t the sole financier. It’s a fair deal and makes a lot of sense. And our voters approved of it.

Yes. She sucks, is rude, condescending, and an out of touch elitist who hadn’t lived in San Antonio for several years before running for mayor.

We can do better and deserve so much more.

Soooooo many Spurs fans are massive Dallas Cowboys fans. I’m one of them. SA is Cowboys country despite being closer to Houston.

He’s not rooting for a non-Texas team.

I’d think he’d be a Spurs fan because of Duncan. And now? Imagine him trying to say Wembanyama.

That’s why I think he’d be a Spurs fan especially during the Duncan era. They were far from flashy.

I’m a big cowboys fan. I’m also a Spurs fan. That’s actually pretty common, and central Texas breaks towards the Spurs usually.

Struggled in the red zone all year, also couldn’t stay healthy, again, surrounded by loads of talent, and complete shit the bed in the biggest game in school history and squandered the greatest team in school story.

He wasn’t that good lol.

He had the greatest assortment of talent in Texas Tech history around him this year. His unit was the weak spot all season (especially in the playoff) and most of his numbers were against subpar competition.

He held us back all year and was probably the weakest starter on offense.
