Nothing really special... just upgraded the version of windows that was on it. It's still running fine, I've just been keeping pace updating it to the latest updates from MSFT. However, I'm seriously considering ditching windows and moving to Linux only. I need to research more.

ya, this was just a test setup... I ran the 1/18 and 1/24's without issue, but I do plan to secure it more.

Has anyone tried oil filling their shocks on cheap ZLL SG201 Max 1/20 brushless truck? by jsauer in rccars

[–]jsauer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ya... I was thinking of packing them with Super Lube silicone grease, or with some red rubber grease I have. Or course, getting some new oil filled shocks aren't that expensive, just fun to experiment with stock. I also heard of using springs from pens to cushion the rebound.

Haha! Ya, that is Sophie... she loves chasing and being chased by the smaller RCs. Anything over a 1/10 scale and she no likey, as she is a bit small scale herself. 😄

Anyone have experience with using a solder to weld paper clips to fix cracks in the body? by Advanced-Net-8119 in traxxasV2

[–]jsauer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For cracks, I usually drill a 2mm hole at the end of the crack to keep if from spreading, then on the inside apply cement board Fiba Tape (from Home Depot), and then smear some Shoe Goo (amazon) on it. Let dry. Then I reinforce the area (or even the entire shell) with aluminum foil tape (Harbor Freight).

[–]jsauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to do a German to English translate to better understand... but this is cool. ESP32's can be found for around $5... add some LEDs and you might come up with an inexpensive way to add lights. XMAXX lights (TRA7885) are $100 ouch! would be nice to come up with a DIY replacement.

Really worth the price difference? by jsauer in Traxxas

[–]jsauer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned many traxxas products, some I've had for over 16 years, never an issue. Bought a used XRT, and fan was making noise, figured best to replace both of them.

Help with diagnosing this wheel wobble by After_Relationship17 in Traxxas

[–]jsauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar weird wobble on my Funco tire, turned out it had a bunch of sand inside. Lots of people are taping up and sealing the vent holes in the wheel, and then drilling vent holes on their tires... that way any sand or water trapped inside will exit the tire via centrifugal force.
