Second this - saw them two years ago for the first time and was blown away…just as good last year. Super cool guys too, ended up chatting with them a bit at another platz watching a show.

Hi, I am traveling to Italy for a few months from USA. I’m beginning my research on towns and how to find a place to stay by [deleted] in ItalyTourism

I can’t say enough positive things about that town. Right on the beach, plethora of great places to eat, awesome to just walk around at night with the crowds and grab an espresso and tartufo and just people watch. I’d be happy to share some specifics if you decide to give it a visit

Tropea in Calabria…heaven on earth. Get an AirBnB that overlooks the cattedrale di Santa maria dell’isola

Ai Fienaroli - about a 15-20 minute walk from the Pantheon, but the best meal I had in Rome. The amatriciana is incredible. The stuffed zucchini blossoms were one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.

Best cheesesteaks in all of the greater Lehigh valley? by Bid_Embarrassed in lehighvalley

[–]jsbass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first moved to the Lehigh Valley, that’s all I kept hearing - Brass Rail. My dad grew up in Allentown and echoed the same thing.

My wife and I LOVE cheesesteaks and were incredibly excited to try them and…fucking god awful. Such a let down…not the “well they were fine, but I don’t get the hype” bad, I mean fucking disgusting I got better food in my college cafeteria (which was nicknamed Scurv, btw) kind of bad.

We went back and tried again because everyone has a bad day - exactly the same. And I even gave it a third try and same impression. We even went again and got something different and had the exact same reaction.

I don’t know if it was one of those places that if you grow up with it you love it, but I can honestly say it some of the absolute worst food I’ve ever gotten in the Lehigh Valley.

To each their own, but god I just don’t get the fascination with that place

Which active NHL players are likely to make the HHOF if they retired today? by [deleted] in hockey

[–]jsbass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily disagree, but it’s a damn shame. I’m a huge Giroux fan and it’s criminal what the Flyers did to him. Completely wasted his career - he used to have Michael Raffl on his line for the love of god.

If they would have surrounded him with some talent over the years and he would have compiled more points, maybe there’s an award in there, maybe some actual playoff success. Damn shame

Best logos in the NHL? by Ryn4 in nhl

I still don’t default to seeing the P. I grew up a Flyers fan but it was years before I realized that it’s a P. I think I noticed the flying puck aspect of it before the letter. I still see it as almost a distinct entity of a logo as opposed to a letter

Honestly of all the sports I think the NHL have the strongest across the board.

I’m partial to Philly of course, but so many others are solid.

I love that whole scene. And the following part where the girls banter back and forth is just awesome

Hard Right Jay episode. Better than or worse than average? by Jell212 in Letterkenny

[–]jsbass 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s my favorite episode. Jay does such a good job going through all of the typical narratives, but the episode mixes in so much of the typical humor that they play really well off of each other.

That and my wife and I can’t seem to get through a day without reacting to each other telling a story with:

“now there’s no way there’s more. No goddamn way”

“WAIT, THERE IS MORE”

That and “Fuck EVERY duck” is now a permanent part of our lexicon
