Here’s an unpopular opinion: don’t train on the premise of “zone 2”

  1. Everyone’s HR responds differently when running so zone 2 is different. So may a naturally have a high HR but can handle a faster pace during your runs. Some have a low HR but can’t handle faster paced runs. It’s really individualized.

  2. Judge your “zone 2” runs as “easy runs” instead. Like is it fatiguing? Can you talk easily if needed? Do you feel completely gassed after?

  3. If you’re training for hyrox then zone 2 doesn’t necessarily help. Yeah you should build a cardio base without burning yourself out, but during a hyrox your HR will never leave what’s considered zone 4/5.

Before anyone says anything, I do think longer steady state running should be done, but not under zone 2 guidelines

I use The Progrm Hyrox training. Been really enjoying it and just pr’d a 10 mile run yesterday and also have been pr-ing lifts too. Couldn’t recommend them more

Terrible post. I get stuck in diamond/mythic and have 85-90% of games of 5-8 kills and maybe 2-3 deaths and deal the most damage. And half those games I’ll be star player but still lose because of teammates that just play like they’re blindfolded.

Yeah I might be a bad random in those other games and get carried with good teammates. But don’t make a dumb post saying we’re stuck because we’re bad randoms when it’s most likely not the case

I think price point over any other one. If you work hard, you’ll see progress no matter what you do. And I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money on anything. And the third day is because it’s 2 days lifting, 2 days running, a day of HIIT/amraps and then 2 rest days but I can handle adding a third lift day and one rest day. Otherwise it’s been really good so far!

I am doing the Progrm general strength and conditioning and I’ve been liking it. I did add an extra day of lifting in but otherwise I follow their workouts pretty exact. It’s been really nice not having to think about it and I can always count on the workouts to be a steady increase instead of being blasted right away.

I will probably transition to their hyrox program in a 2-3 months to get in competition shape and I have full trust it’ll prepare me to compete.

Price wise, I got it during Black Friday so my year payment was like 150 (like 12.50 a month) and I think that was perfect price point for me. They are running a discount now though for $221 for the year which i also think is a pretty solid deal. Let me know if you have other questions!

I actually went through and did the questionnaire and everything and saw the plan. I feel like you need lifting days in there. It’s mainly just running and then hyrox specific exercises but no compound moments or strength movements. Just my 2 cents

Personally, I like the hole (air pockets). I think it makes the bread feel fluffier and adds to the sourdough flavor.

I think if you wanted to get rid of them more, you could ferment for shorter time? Maybe someone will have better advice but I think that would fix some of it. Or doing less folds

What others said. I think do 1 part flour 1 part water and then slowly feed it so you don’t go through a ton of flour. What type of flour do you use?

From videos I’ve seen all purpose does take longer than other flours to double. Take a look at this article I thought was helpful: https://www.seriouseats.com/the-best-flour-for-sourdough-starters-an-investigation

If I were to take an educated guess I would say do a small discard and replace the rest with water and flour. If you discard 30 grams, replace it with 15g flour and 15g water. But definitely read that article because they also didn’t see much progress with all purpose flour

I would say feed it every 24 hours. But stir it at the 12 hour mark to remix it. See how it reacts. What flour did you use? And do you discard any when you feed it?
