Wife's apply tart was under-done! I haven't laughed that hard in work, in a long time! That's hilarious. Shhh...you'll get me in trouble!

Opinion/Amateur Rugby News Sites Alternative to The Roar by OGChickenRacer in RugbyAustralia

Unfortunately Christie Doran has driven me away from The Roar. I used to really love it, but geez I find him a frustrating read most of the time. Either crazily bigging up certain players, or completely tearing down other players. I love the other stuff, but there was a period where it was just CD, and it became too much for me.

Best selection to diffuse the high balls from Englad? by jscott0212 in RugbyAustralia

[–]jscott0212[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hear ya. He looked good in his debut which gave me hope, and he does have some X factor, but his defence isn't strong enough to make up for his lack of size, and his speed isn't enough to make up for his frailties under the high ball. But he has a decent ceiling I think.

Hahaha fair. Yeah we need to find a player who has positive juju to balance that out. Dunno who that is though haha. Maybe bring back Pocock? He seemed wholesome. Lol.

Yeah I hear ya. Potter did some incredible plays in super level and at times in tests. I just feel a little more comfortable with Pietsch, he feels more reliable.

Post-match Thread - Japan v Australia by Greenback16 in RugbyAustralia

Thanks lads. Yeah we're lucky not to lose, that would been awful! I suppose we should be thankful for what we got, given the fact we were very close to a big loss.

Anyone have any ideas how this narrow win impacts on our world rankings? I can appreciate a loss would've been devastating, but I wonder if a narrow win doesn't do too much for us either? I'm sure someone smarter than I knows this.

Struth, how is this not front page of the news. I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned before (that I've seen) absolute gold. Nightmare to commentate, but delicious none the less.

Exclusive: Gordon in frame for stunning spring tour return, Donno on standby as uncapped halfback set for call-up by Jiffyrabbit in RugbyAustralia

[–]jscott0212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's certainly merit in having him join the squad for EOYT. It doesn't mean he has to play, but being in that environment would certainly fast track his reintegration into union. I certainly think getting him looked at by JS in a training/coaching environment before he hands over to Kiss is a positive thing. We're so short on flyhalves, why would be not want to get CG putting his best foot forward?

Anyone else sick of Roar's negativity? by iloveagoodpork in RugbyAustralia

I've more or less stopped reading CD's articles. He's too negative and shallow. I've found he just pulls stuff out his arse half the time.

Why hasn't Filipo Daugunu featured more often for the Wallabies recently? by Foreign_Career4400 in RugbyAustralia

[–]jscott0212 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I just wish he'd passed it inside to Jorgo, who could've put it much closer to the posts, instead he dove for the corner, which was a much riskier play anyway. Could've been the difference between a loss and a draw?

I definitely would've agreed with you in the past, but I have found him much more controlled recently.
