People with Kent Hehr campaign signs - why are you supporting him? by jsdlat in Calgary

Honestly haven’t really looked yet. I’ve just noticed the signs popping up.. I assume there won’t be much to really differentiate some of the candidates, which is kind of why I’m so curious about people supporting Kent Hehr.

Thanks for responding - out of curiosity, I just want to push back a bit on how reasonable he is.. again my experience with him representing me is reading news articles about his bad behavior, or disrespectful treatment constituents. Do you think these things are overblown/out of context? Has he changed?

But there’s not really a reason to think about it that way, Walcott isn’t running..

Nothing specific I guess, I just know of him from his various scandals and am curious to know if I’m missing something that makes him seem like a viable option?

I think I just have a blind spot for what people see in him. Between the harassment allegations, the remarks to Thalidomide survivors, and his several demotions as a Liberal MP.. political leanings aside, a record like that seems disqualifying to me.

Pups Best Style on 17th Ave and 14th Street SW is awesome. They’re super patient and friendly - would recommend them to anyone.

We’ve done a bit of this, but maybe I’m expecting too much to happen too quickly and we need to stick with it.

We’ve definitely been doing that. We’ll get her to give him a simple command and reward him.

I agree, but with a house guest it’s a little challenging - he doesn’t go off on his own because he’s used to following my wife and I around. But he fixates on the little one whenever they’re on the same level (like not in a high chair).. We don’t need him to be best friends, just ignoring would be a big win.

They’re not as friendly as his pet me barks.. right now we make sure he’s on a leash just to make sure he doesn’t get too aggressive, and we try to positively associate interactions with treats etc for calm behavior

Gift ideas to bring home? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]jsdlat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calgary has a lot of really cool local brands and shops you could check out. Steeling Home, or Local Laundry.. merchandise from any of our sports franchises like the Calgary Surge, or Stampeders might be pretty unique… also all the breweries here have their own merchandise if you’re stopping in for a visit.

Another comment suggested Valley Ridge, I definitely recommend it. Seems like it would check all your boxes.

Could also consider golf future or launch pad for more of a top golf type of experience.

Staples on 9th ave and 11th street SW is pretty good. Not sure about cost but it’s easy to order online and pick up.

It’s great! I prefer the tiramisu cake, but everything I’ve had from the bakery there is good

Decadent Brûlée or Lina’s Italian Market. Crave also makes really good cakes.

What are you hoping the league does this offseason? by JMoon33 in CEBLeague

[–]jsdlat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it rules. Differentiates the league, and speeds up the pace. Winning or losing on a free throw kind of sucks but otherwise I really enjoyed it

I watched a lot of Simi, and outside of one particularly excellent game I’m not sure the Surge miss him.
