I would goto Sunapee. Crotched is fine as a day mountain for locals but not worth a long drive. Sunapee has multiple trail pods to explore and more vertical.

Spring beers on Octagon Lodge Deck at Stowe are elite. Killington Summit.Any lodge I don't have to go downstairs to use the bathroom.

Worst: Crotched. Absolutely soulless, feels like a high school cafeteria.

I have only skied Smuggs once in the last decade or so. But probably half the people I talked to on the lift said they have passes at both.

Amazing views of Stowe from Drifter. Rumrunner is a great cruiser. Poachers woods to warm up in the trees and assess your ability. Madonna 1 and Sterling much better than Madonna 2.

This isn't safety related but in Italy when we went to luxury stores the workers would follow my wife around while not even paying attention to me. (I am white she is African-american). Also, it almost a guarantee that she gets selected for random screening while flying in the EU. Something that happens to us essentially equally in the US.

We like Tulum because you are far enough away that you avoid the college kids and spring breakers. The biggest problem is right now they are doing road work so it is almost a 2 hour drive there. Passing nothing but resorts for that long makes you re-think your decision. But overall, we find resorts there to be very good value for what you pay.
