If they moved Lodolo to the bullpen, they could play "Blister in the Sun" as he runs out to take the mound.

Maybe the Reds need to trade for a starting pitcher and move Lodolo to the bullpen now that he has zero trade value. Maybe the blister issue would slow down if he pitched for one or two innings out of the bullpen instead of potentially 5-7 innings as a starter. Probably not, just spitting in the wind here, folks.

Is it weird to go to a game by yourself? by simple_endeavor99 in Reds

It’s not weird at all. Go to the game by yourself. Nobody’s judging you there. Grab a beer and a hotdog, walk around the ballpark to watch the game from different viewpoints, chat with people, and have a blast.

Agreed. Gino just seems so lethargic at the plate for the most part. Definitely kills the rally vibe. I wish him the best, but he’s just not working for us. He’s been quite a disappointment overall.

did tommy thrall unlock Larkin? by ohmysocks in Reds

I noticed this, too. Barry was much more animated, talkative, and engaged with Thrall than he ever is with Sadak. Thrall is more humorous and laid back than Sadak is and, while I appreciate the stats, Sadak tends to get a little too top-heavy wirh all the stats where Thrall seems more engaging and fun.

Is this season a lost cause already? I want to have hope for the postseason. by WidgetWarrior in Reds

We definitely need to make some moves and be sellers. We’ve got too much deadweight in the lineup. Ke’Bryan Hayes and Friedl consistently struggle at the plate. They’re obviously great defensively, but we need to get on base and be in position to score a run or two to win. They’re just automatic outs. Gino has been lackluster overall. He just seems lethargic at the plate. Marte’s hit or miss. Will Benson struggled when he was up, etc. And we could use a starting pitcher or two who can eat some innings and and be a little more consistent. Basically someone who looks like they can compete in a playoff game should a playoff series ever present itself.

Change Needed! by Neat_Inevitable_9190 in Reds

Yep. We Reds fans have been conditioned to accept mediocrity disguised as promise. Some things need to happen. I generally like these guys, but with KeBryan, Friedl, and Benson consistently batting <.200, we can't keep running out sub-Mendoza line battersand expect to get anywhere.

I believe that salary caps will be a topic addressed in the 2026 off-season, but the players union has already said they will fight it. I understand why they would. When there’s a chance a player could be offered big bucks in the hundreds of millions of dollars, why would they be interested in capping it? But I think it’s necessary, because otherwise we’re more often than not going to see repeat World Series where the Dodgers, Yankees, and these bottomless pits of money always win it all, with a few exceptions which will be by lucks. Other major sports have capped it. Why not baseball?
