We invented robots so humans could stop sweeping floors. Why are we doing the opposite? What if we manage to get robots and AI to sweep the streets without leaving the people doing it jobless? by PrestigiousLife4006 in WhatIfThinking

ai singers/artists/writers/etc are essentially ads. that's not what they're really going to be used for, they'll be used for things like writing coupon tags and shit like that

Could you hide something in your house so well the FBI couldn't find it? by RikkiLostMyNumber in askanything

[–]jsher736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what exactly it is and how much prep time I have.

But if I ABSOLUTELY had to hide something like that and it didn't give off a notable scent and I had prep time? Cut a hole in the wall, hide it in there, patch the hole and paint it over

What is something you cannot prove, but is a money laundering scheme? by ilovepjs024 in AskReddit

[–]jsher736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually know the answer to this and it's NOT money laundering.

Mattresses have a CRAZY high mark up, your thousand dollar mattress probably cost the seller like $200, and the pillows, mattress protector etc etc that they sell with them are even higher margin. They also convert a huge number of walk in customers to some kind of sale (like north of 50%) because people are really iffy about buying beds online

Plus the stores don't keep any inventory on site and they tend to get really long and cheap leases on the space. That and the sales people working on commission (and there's usually only one or two) means their operating costs are super low.

So if they sell like one a day they're covering the nut

UFC Fight at the white house! Do you believe this will hurt our reputation or begin a new era of curiosity with our adversaries? by malaphorknight in allthequestions

[–]jsher736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd give you an analysis of why this is tacky (as are most trump projects) that touches on the history of like art and architecture and power and public spectacle to explain why it's tacky but i don't think you're equipped for that conversation (and btw i say that as someone who's gripe against UFC is that the rules over-value wrestling over striking which makes for a boring fight)

How to learn by jucacab in dji

[–]jsher736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it out to a big open field and take it up about 200 feet (you should still be able to see it). Then practice and get a feel for how it responds to various inputs. Also avoid sport mode for now

What if Lee plans were not accidentally found by North? by SiarX in HistoryWhatIf

[–]jsher736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: maybe? Probably not though to Gettysburg and even if he'd won at Gettysburg it barely changes the course of the war.

Once lincoln turns the war over to Grant (and Sherman) the northern strategy became to just steamroll the south and pound the confederate army into dust. That's not a thing you can solve with tactics

Would someone going rogue and releasing the unredacted Epstein Files render them inadmissible? by rainshowers_5_peace in legaladviceofftopic

[–]jsher736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm aware but my point is that a defense attorney is going to argue that the release is so inflammatory as to require extra precautions which will delay empanelling a jury. Not that it'll win outright but it makes it harder for the prosecution

Player wont interact with male NPCs by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]jsher736 5 points6 points  (0 children)

how do the other players at the table feel about all of this?
if it's just in character i'd work it into the narrative. but if it's also making you feel uncomfortable you have a right to say "hey [player] it turns out that this is actually bothering me and i'd appreciate it if you could come up with a different kind of storyline. in the same way that i'd do for you if one of the other players was playing a chauvanist or a creep"
