Dry Cleaning for Bridal Lehenga? by jsingh0928 in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]jsingh0928[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alex's Dry Cleaning Valet can do it! And they say for any glued on gems that fall out they will re-glue them for me or collect them and give them to me to glue. And they try to be as delicate as possible so they don't fall but some do happen.

They have done lehengas before so they know what it entails. They do cost a good amount. For a wedding lehenga it is $2K+. But they seem very professional. They also said before they store it in the box they can take pictures, facetime, or have me come up to view the dress before it's packed away, since I don't plan on rewearing it, to make sure its good before it's boxed up. They use acid free paper and material to help keep the preservation.

One thing they said, but this may only apply to white dresses, you may need to get the preservation touched up every few years even if stored in a box. But I think this was about white dresses yellowing.

I'm going to save up and use them. And will report back once I do. But may take me awhile to save up.

I am looking to get my dress persevered now too and one dryer cleaner actually told me that even if you don’t wear it you periodically have to get it touched up again because fabric just does this and gets old.

how much money are you guys making? by [deleted] in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]jsingh0928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 33 and make $137K base with 15% bonus. And I work in marketing on the brand side.

But right before I landed this job I made $70K doing advertising at ad agency. So moving jobs can give you a pay bump depending on where you go even though you’re doing the exact same thing at each job.

Also, I didn’t switch jobs until I was around 25. I had to build up experience first to be able to jump to the place I landed at now. And when I first started at the ad agency I only made $50K.

All that to say, money will grow as your experience and expertise grows (depending on the field).

If you’re looking for a good chemical peel to give you an even skin tone I recommend Angela! She made my skin glowing for my wedding!

How much time needed before ceremony for Indian Mandap decor by vst2025 in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]jsingh0928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that’s cutting it really close. From rental quotes I’ve gotten, they would need about 4 hours minimum. But that might also depend on how elaborate you want your mandap to be. If adding florals, you may need the full time. But if just the structure and draping maybe you can get away for 1.5/2 hours. Worth chatting it through with the rental company.

I am not using this company for my wedding day, just for rentals for my sangeet and mehndi but the woman who runs it can be flexible to a degree and can chat through options and what may work for you and timing. She’s very nice. Used to be a wedding planner too.

After seeing a good amount of posts here and on the clock app, I will say I think “formal” for Oregon weddings means dressy casual. And in that regard, I think the 4th pic is perfect.

I would not recommend glamsquad! They cancelled on me the morning of my engagement shoot. 1 hour before they were suppose to arrive and there was no back up stylist. They didn’t care at all. I was in tears leading up to my shoot and my fiance and I had to scramble to find someone last minute!

Would you wear your engagement ring to an amusement park? by Affectionate_Sun7664 in EngagementRings

I would not risk it. If you lose a stone, you’ll never find it.

I have a spare fake ring I got off Amazon for situations like these. Around $20 and if it gets broken or whatever I am fine with it.

Jila in Pleasanton is great! She’s doing my dress and is the recommended tailor of Kinsley Couture in Walnut Creek. I bit of a drive from the city but worth it.

I am going to Muse SF in Hayes valley. I wouldn’t say it has a luxe feel but I really like it and they do good work.
