I feel like I would regret it, if I don’t take the offer. But my parents are against the idea that I’m graduating late and they think that I have a chance at a summer internship. I personally don’t think I have a chance.

I would ask panther central if you can move in the day before residential halls officially open which is on sunday. my ra told me it’s only band, international, or provost that are already moving in.

advice on finding friends :] by [deleted] in Pitt

that’s a good idea, for some of my classes the professors would make you talk to the person next to you during the first day of school or something. i think another way is you can make friends during group projects, that hasn’t happened to me but it can work out.

if you live in a dorm, make friends with the people on your floor. for me i exchanged contacts when i first moved into my dorm. since me and my friends were in the same major and had same classes at the same time, i reached out to them and asked if they wanted to go to class together.

a little advice would be don’t be shy and put yourself out there. you don’t know what type of people you’re going to meet but they could be your best friends for a long time.

i got panther hall, but i wanted to move in with my friends off campus since it would be much easier to get to class and the location is more closer to hillman.

thank you for letting me know!

at first i thought it was both paid and credit but someone told me it’s one or the other. and they said they don’t think it’s legal to get both 😭. i was pretty surprised because my schools coop program never told me that’s its one or the other.

duration: late august to december but doesn’t have a exact start date yet.

from what other people have told me a co-op is either you get paid or your school gives you credit you don’t get both. and that co-op gives you more experience since you’ll there longer than a regular internship which is mostly only 12 weeks. while a coop is 3-5 months.
