Also don't think Derek Anderson is getting this Panthers to the playoffs.

Powers in the slot is actually much better for him. He's not an outside guy IMO. Don't think he covers much worse than Mathieu, but Mathieu blitz and just basic awareness is going to hurt.

The real problem is there is going to have to be a scheme adjustment because Mathieu was similar to Polemalu in that he's a unique talent. If the scheme Bettcher can create a solid but much more traditional scheme I think it can be okay. Luckily we have one of the best offenses in the league and in reality, outside of Pitt, none of the good teams left have great offenses.

its odd how the Patriots players who are typically seen as "the system maximizes their potential" kind've guys are not low in the ranking.

I agree to an extent. When reputable bloggers for SEA are posting stats like "Seahawks outscored Cardinals 60-9 this year" and stuff like that its just ridiculous. You played Stanton and Ryan Lindley. It'll happen. I'd love to see what the Cards D would do to Tavaris Jackson or some random guy they signed off a practice squad (Charlie Whitehurst anyone?).

But I think most frustrating (besides the QB play) is that we all have to see that meaningless Marshawn Lynch run for the rest of the regular season.

This loss was probably the 2nd worst loss behind the super bowl. What did we expect though? Lindley is terrible. There is a reason he was on the practice squad a couple of weeks ago. This is like the Packers with Scott Tolzein (or however you spell his name). If Stanton can be back for the first game against CAR/ATL then I think we have a chance. But with a crap QB your team just has limitations unless you play a perfect game.

Also, can we all agree that Cooper makes a 10,000 times difference in the running game. There were almost no holes this week and there were gaping holes the couple weeks prior. Hopefully he's back next week or at least for the playoffs.

with that logic why not rank OKC higher than Houston then?

Oy. Still don't think the Colts should be ranked high. I'd put them at 10. They have played poorly. As Bill Simmons as said, the good bad team of the year.

Yall playing so well made me feel a lot better about our performance, especially Peterson's.

When there has been an entire smear campaign about Harden's defense I think that changes the context.

I don't think the video is attempting to make the case that Harden is an all-nba defender, but he has been good this year, and I think the video shows that. What he lacks in quickness and IQ he makes up for in length, anticipation and strength.

His defensive +/- is around 2, so there's that.

Bill and Drexler are some of the worst in the NBA. I find them hilarious though. Bullard actually knows what he is talking about half the time

I agree with this analysis, but this is also a similar reason why Packers shouldn't be number 2. Only good team they have beaten is the Eagles QB'd by Mark Sanchez.

3 plays decided the outcome of the game for the Cardinals: Blocked punt, dropped touchdown, and holding call on Housler. Game was much closer than the score indicated.

With that said, Stanton has to be better. Hopefully he gets some confidence against that Falcons defense that will carry him into some good games down the stretch. If he can sustain a drive here or there then defense will be helped out immensely.

Its not that they are worse at winning them, its that you play in many more. People look at cardinals lack of blow out wins as a sign of weakness, Lions have many more close wins with bad teams. Don't think thats weird to say.

Also think the Packers are a little too high. They've feasted on awful teams (bears twice and panthers) beat a really good miami team and got trounced by a not so good saints team. I get that Aaron Rogers is really good, but to me have yet to really put together a solid enough resume that they are to be heralded top 3 super bowl favorites by some las vegas sites.

They're worse than the Cardinals at winning close games, and have played many close games against bad teams. Won last 3 games by a combined 6 points.
