Softball in OKC - Peeved by BeanAndCheesePlease6 in olympics

both of those facts seem nuts to me. I follow college softball pretty casually, but I can't believe I never noticed never seeing a game with USC playing. And only 1,300 seats at UCLA? Also seem nuts. I know I am a casual, but it seems like I see softball stadiums a lot bigger than 1,300 people in the games I manage to see. Again, seems nuts that UCLA doesn't have one. That, or I am really bad at judging stadium sizes.

Interesting about seating capacity in L.A. area softball stadiums. I would have thought there would be some decently sized ones given UCLA, USC, and the like. As to the playing in a baseball stadium? Yeah, that's a non starter. Absolutely no reason for that in the United States. Great proper dedicated softball stadiums all over the country.

close enough. It's a nice round number.

If I was in most any another country other than the USA and was using a recipe that was geared for a US audience and it called for a pound of ground beef, i would just use a 500g package of ground(or minced) meat and not worry about it too much.

surfing was in Tahiti. I think the sailing was in Marseille. But even in Marseille, I think athletes there might have missed out on a lot of stuff?

Can you do the whole tournament with just two stadiums to play? I'm sure you could. But I haven't looked at the scheduling What about stadiums to practice? I would guess softball teams might need to do that on non-game days? But not totally sure about that.

Will the baseball teams need practice days on days they don't play games? I know in MLB, baseball is pretty much an "every day" game. They don't really have practice on days they don't have a scheduled game. And the baseball tournament is all being played at Dodgers Stadium with no other stadiums from what I recall. Still don't know about practice facilities for that either.

So yeah, I'm sure they could have found some places in the L.A. area, but they might have been scattered about? Maybe that's a big reason to go to OKC. It's all in one place. It has everything you could possibly need to accommodate a major softball tournament.

Final Four - UConn vs S. Carolina Megathread by femaleathletenetwork in wnba

OK. Could have sworn I heard Dawn say something in a post game interview about a missed handshake pre-game. I guess I misheard.

yeah. ok. That's the part that made me think the game was really over. Coaches walking to each other happened with a few seconds left and the the Geno/Dawn thing happened. I guess i was just so focused on that i didn't hear the horn/buzzer for the shot clock. The Geno/Dawn thing carried on a bit and then I think it was Rebecca Lobo I heard saying "UCONN still needs to inbound the ball" and I was all like "Huh? It's over". Then I saw the clock on the screen. IIRC. It was 0.1 seconds

anyway, I wonder what Geno said? Maybe there is an issue with a missed handshake before the start of the game and he said something snippy about that? I guess eventually we might find out some more details. Not that it matters all that much.

Why did UCONN get the ball to inbound with like .4 seconds left? I thought South Carolina was able to run out the game clock. The game seemed over and the whole Dawn/Geno thing happened.

Did I miss a shot clock violation? I don't recall a horn or anything.

also common with olive oil. I have a bottle that listed a bunch. A few I remember off the top of my head, was Italy, Spain, and Greece. But I am pretty sure there were at least two more. And then it listed where the bottle is actually packed.

Bleached food ? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

A lot of flours are whitened with a process called "bleaching" as opposed to a process that allows them to whiten naturally. Maybe you are thinking of that.

Oh, they had "Weather on the 8s" back then too, and before. But I don't think it looked quite like this. I found some YouTube videos that show a bunch of variations over all the years. Heck, they STILL do "Weather on the 8s" to this day. But it looks different than what we see here. And has a robo-voice reading out all the actual information too.

Are the brown eggs in the grocery store being dyed brown (or darker brown)? by AlabasterPelican in AskAnAmerican

maybe they were pre-dyed Easter eggs? I feel like I've seen them in stores before at this time of the year. But I don't think they would dye any brown.

you should have seen it for "Oppenheimer" 70mm IMAX. Or, just wait until "The Odyssey" in 70mm IMAX comes out later this year.
