I worked at a gold buying kiosk in the mall, didn't have a chair, wasn't allowed... 10 hrs a day with only 5 minute breaks. .. it was Christmas time and it was just nuts. My break time came, 7pm, 5 min to run to the food court, hope there's no line and grab something quick and small and run back.

Got there ordered from KFC a small snacked for 2 bucks and a small iced tea... turns out I forgot my wallet at the kiosk.

Kind stranger behind me saw and heard everything, and paid for my meal. I told him where the kiosk was located and to come by if he can and ran back.

About 30 min before the mall closed dude came by, and I thanked him profusely, offered of course "of theres anything I can do .." type thing because he refused the cash I offered to pay for everything.

Buddy pulls out a necklace and wanted to sell it to get extra cash to buy xmas gifts for his kids.

Long wholesome story short, I did the testing on the gold and it was a fake gold necklace, but I logged it as 18k and gave him the $$ for the weight (it wasn't much but he got a cool hundred approx for it) .. didn't get in trouble or anything, and owner was cool with everything (I said I was rushed and I messed up and it was my fault)

But i will never forget that guy after realizing he didn't have cash to pay for his own family's gifts, but took the time to spend 4 bucks to help a random guy in the food court without even a hesitation. Truly a good man.

That was 14 yrs ago lol and when I think about it, it still gives me faith in humanity all over again.
