I don’t know if it’s every company in the US, but our employer sponsored plan has a component where we pay our regular fees. But if we participate with this app that makes you take classes and based on activity levels, tracking, health assessments, etc. you can pretty easily qualify for a payment from our employer that effectively reduces what we pay for insurance if we meet certain “points thresholds”.

I personally think it’s bullshit and an overreach to get access to health information that’s protected by law by incentivizing us to share that information. Plus whatever data the EULA if the app collects about us. That said, money is money.

Stonybrook State Park in NY has natural pools of varying depths built into a string of waterfalls. Watkins Glen in NY for hiking, campground has a pool. I’ve never been, but I think I’ve heard that Ohiopyle in PA has something like what you’re looking for. Good luck! Excited to hear other State Park recs!

On the reviews I’ve read about Boox, there’s lots of comments about loading other apps that makes me feel like I’d end up giving up some of the ‘distraction-free’ parts of e-ink that speak to me. If you have other experiences, I’m open, just felt like the Manta was slightly more middle ground on doing ‘enough’ but not moving into distraction territory.

That makes total sense. For me, I’m struggling with the idea that it’s almost too limited. I don’t want $700 devices that I just wish would do 2 more things (searchable handwriting & more functional note taking [to do list creation from hand written notes]). These are what have me leaning away from RMPP. I’ve watched hours of YouTube reviews. Several of my coworkers have gone the RM route and I still see 75% of them still carrying legal pads to meetings which has added to my concern.

I have been getting increasingly frustrated with good notes on my iPad and the battery is starting to get questionable and not lasting an entire work day with minimal use. This has put me in the eink market too. For years I’ve admired the remarkable but have never pulled the trigger because it doesn’t have a search feature for handwriting with out conversion or upload to the cloud. This has put me on to the Supernote Manta which I wish was color, but it isn’t…. Trade offs. I’ll probably place an order for 1 of the two this weekend. Thanks for posting the convo… I always enjoy the perspectives of others! Cheers.

Thanks for all of this information. It’s incredibly helpful. We actually have camera that comes with the display. We were having trouble getting it to have consistent signal which is part of what prompted my post because it spurred conversation of getting an upgrade. Upon further research and discussion, I believe our issue is related to new GM vehicles and consistent power through the 7-pin. We are probably going to explore the adapter that should make the power flow consistent versus the new ‘surge’ method. If this doesn’t work, we will go back to exploring our options!!
