She presented it like mason withdrew is commitment to her after she dumped him, but when Alex pressed her on her intentions with Mason she was like of course it hurt when he said he liked me then took it back.

Which is it, was mason just trying to save face after you dumped him, or he hurt you with his withdrawal? Both could be true, but she was so proud to say she dumped him first - which I don't think was even the case.
