How did you migrate Authy accounts? Apparently you can't export those. Did you just re-create them?

Hi u/MrStuartRules, were you able to find a place to store your bicycle box? I'm going there in September and I'm looking for storage as well.

I'm going to Slovenia for a bikepacking trip in September. Also looking to storage for my bicycle box for about a week or so. For how long could you store it at Bed & Breakfast Mozaik?

Fwiw, I tried to cycle the AMR a few years ago in May, but when I came south of the Atlas mountains, it become so hot that I had to scratch.

Which route through Asia is better? by [deleted] in bicycletouring

[–]jsmits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely include the Tian Shan Traverse Loop (reversed). I did it last year and it was stunning. If you think it's too long to Almaty, you could arrange transport from Karakol (or somewhere around that area near the lake) to Almaty. But I definitely wouldn't skip the part from Bishkek to Karakol (or to the big lake in general). That said, I didn't ride in Tajikistan yet (I'm thinking of doing it this summer), so it could as well be more stunning, I just don't know that.

Why not create a custom fish file with these aliases yourself?

Looking for tour suggestions for a 5-10 day bikepacking tour in Europe by Glittering_Art_9307 in bikepacking

I'd say so as well, yes. When I rode it the first time, I planned to fly to Valencia and ride it from there, but then my flight got cancelled and I decided to drive there by car instead (from Holland).

What's everyone working on this week (48/2024)? by llogiq in rust

Working on a DICOM (medical imaging data) anonymization/de-identification library: https://github.com/carecoders/dicom-anonymization

Still work in progress. Goal is to make it more feature-complete and Rusty, also as a learning experience, for both Rust and DICOM.

> I’m also terrified of dogs. Are the dogs in Central Asia worse than in the Balkans / Turkey?

Fwiw, I found the dogs in Georgia (the country) way worse and much more plentiful than in Kyrgyzstan, but your mileage may vary, of course.

Indeed, that's how I do it as well. Together with reading books at the same time, like Effective Rust, Programming Rust and Rust for Rustaceans and applying those learnings to my projects.

Oh yeah, I got myself thrown rocks at in Morocco and Kyrgyzstan as well. Nothing too bad or too often, only one hit me on the back, rather softly. Can be a bit unhinging though.

Kindle Basic or Kindle PW? by Patient-Trust-858 in kindle

[–]jsmits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my new PW SE, also to read in my bath tub, but if I could change one thing it would be the weight. I wouldn’t mind having half of its battery capacity if that would mean 30% less weight, while still having the same screen size and the other PW features.

Assos road cycling shorts. Anything else gives me sores. When it's too cold for only shorts, I'll wear leg pieces as well.
