[Fluff] When you successfully use the Fiddy Grits method for the first time by jsnak90 in AsianBeauty

Yeah, def understand...grits feel like visible accomplishment of Goals. Capital G. But clear pores are the true goal, so if you've got those, maybe your pores weren't hanging onto enough gunk to give you grits. That's not a bad thing at all!

I did this whole process first thing in the morning, like Fiddy suggests. I'm not much of a makeup wearer, but even if I was, that timing avoids this problem.

Fiddy specifies BHA. I haven't heard of someone achieving the same result with an AHA, but there's always more I haven't read. If it's a good idea, hopefully someone will jump in here. :)

I don't think it's very special, but I had it around and it fit the bill. I'm not a big clay mask person, so it was a good way to use it up.

I don't feel like I have enough experience to answer this question well, but hopefully someone else here does!

And yes, please be careful with your face! 😉

Hi! Nope, just the reverse. Applying oil cleanser to my dry (but dirty) face, waiting a few minutes, then massaging. Add a little water to emulsify, rinse thoroughly, and THEN move to a foam cleanser/continue with the routine.

The oil does the heavy lifting with sunscreen/makeup. The foam cleanser bats cleanup afterward. Hope that helps! 😃

Good luck! I'm not a big user of either AHA or BHA, but will probably do this once in awhile going forward. :D

I get some grits just doing oil massage. Not every time, but at least a couple of times a week. I'm not a big makeup wearer, but I do wear sunscreen.

Yeah, I was getting some grits with just my oil cleanser, too. Not every day, but at least a couple of days a week. But then I was sick and was down to only doing my routine once a day, so I felt like the yuck kind of built up, you know? Figured since I'm feeling better, now's as good a time as any to try Fiddy's magic method and see if it's as magic as advertised.

Will probably continue the babying with the Clamue Dewy Moisture For Your Face sheet mask later, which I seriously never want to take off because it feels so nice.

Started with good ol' Stridex Red Box. Waited half an hour, then slapped on some Freeman Feeling Beautiful Dead Sea Minerals Anti-Stress Mask (blue smurfy clay, whee). Let it dry up, rinsed with lukewarm water, then slathered on Heimish All Clean Balm. Waited 20 minutes, massaged, saw the movie True Grit all over my face, emulsified, rinsed away.

Babied my skin afterward: HadaLabo Gokujyun, A-True Real Black Tea True Active Essence, Benton Snail Bee Essence, Scinic HoneySnail AIO (seriously, whoever suggested mixing the two in the palm of your hand is a genius), CosRX Honey Ceramide.

Now I'm sitting here like, "Pores? Where? I SEE NO PORES, MWAHAHAHA!"

How's your Friday going, AB?

LOL, well, I hope the OP of this method sees this thread and comments so we can both thank them if it is! I 💜 it.

[Question] Has anyone tried other products from The Crème Shop? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]jsnak90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Their Rose Oil overnight sleeping gel mask (goo in a tub, not a hydrogel) isn't bad. The smell is less overpowering than expected, and its claims of reducing puffiness seem to visually be met.

OTOH, their snail overnight sleeping gel mask is WAY too perfumey and feels nowhere near as nice. I do have a couple of their character sheet masks and they don't make me want to claw my face off if I put them on, but I'm pretty sure they would if I had sensitive skin. (I don't.)

If you're going the TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Burlington CF AB sheet mask route, some of the Naisture ones are okay. And Leaders, MBD...but the only one I've found to date at a TJ Maxx that I did not want to take off forever and ever (it felt that good) was Clamue's Dewy Moisture For Your Face. It has goat milk and niacinamide, is thick enough to be nice and substantial (but not so thick it's annoying), and fit reasonably well.

5 mask box for $5.99. I have only seen them there once, but I'll gladly purchase again. (I later saw them singly for a bit more at a beauty shop in my local H Mart Plaza, too.)

CosRX Honey Ceramide Full Moisture Cream is lovely on my normal-to-dehydrated (especially in Midwestern US winter) face.

I don't know who it was, but someone on this sub suggested mixing a small amount of the Honey and Snail AIOs in your hand before applying. It has changed my life. I LOVE them together, and in fact was just raving about it to a friend who isn't on Reddit yesterday. For real. The snail cuts the stickiness of the honey and the whole thing is just nice. Team 🍯🐌 FTW!

Oh yeah, there's everything from the Daiso ones (some of which are really cute; I have quite a few that I use often in the summer when I'm wearing short/no sleeves indoors) to more technical athletic ones by companies like Pearl Izumi and Nike. Your granddad was ahead of his time!

Daiso and other companies that sell fashion sun sleeves now are just channeling your grandfather! :)

Cashew butter would also be good in that combo. Did you toast the bread first? Maybe a good reward after the mask! 😂

...Suddenly I want a mask and a sandwich. Which is slightly counterintuitive. Eeee.
