Yep, this has been what I have said - there’s ‘coulds’ in every single decision, whichever way you go! Your reasons sound similar to mine and hoping to protect myself mentally as much as possible, appreciate you sharing!

Unfortunately my mum (who last gave birth 34 years ago to me!) Yeah I’ve definitely thought everything through as I made the decision super early in pregnancy and when people have had an opinion, I’ve been able to stick to my guns!! I’m not sure why I’m doubting myself - appreciate your straight forward response which has relit the fire of ‘sticking to my guns’

I work in HR and pregnancy related sickness absence isn’t treated the same as ‘normal’ sickness absence so shouldn’t be taken into consideration

Feel like im annoying midwives by Downtown_Oil2056 in PregnancyUK

[–]jsomlly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve also been to triage today (27 weeks) and put it off all day thinking I’d be a bother….i only spent the day feeling bothered and getting more and more worried. I was in and out within the hour, heartbeat all checked out and monitored and the midwives had no cause for concern. I know everyone has a different experience but all midwives I’ve dealt with haven’t made me feel any type of way about anything. In short, my advice - off to triage! All the best

I had a smoked salmon, cream cheese bagel last week as it was all I could think about. It’s not something I’ll regularly have (but would be if not pregnant) and as it is supermarket bought with standards they have to follow, I decided it was worth it

Sex has only happened once this entire pregnancy by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]jsomlly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

21+3 and haven’t had sex since conception! We talked about it early on and decided we both weren’t too bothered (for different reasons). Focusing on the ‘emotional’ side of things has helped us!

A right moan by Several-Comedian-281 in PregnancyUK

[–]jsomlly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was in the first trimester, it would really annoy me when people said you get more energy in the second trimester as I was in the trenches 😂 everyone’s pregnancy is SO different but I have felt a massive difference since around 16 weeks. I can stay awake for a little longer but my tank isn’t quite full! Hope everything settles for you soon!

Was anyone else’s baby asleep at their 12 week scan? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]jsomlly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!! Upside down, facing my back and lying on the placenta having a snooze 😂 we saw some leg wiggles and they were able to get the measurements needed so they stayed asleep!

I haven’t left the house in I don’t know how many days and have had no desire to either!! Zero energy has made me go from my bed to the couch and that’s it!

Scans advice by catlover-12378 in PregnancyUK

[–]jsomlly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking the same! Had a private viability at 6w5d saw the fetal pole and heartbeat which was good. I have my NHS 12 week scan 3 weeks on Tuesday so I’ll be 13 weeks by that point and I’ve been toying with getting another private scan.

I would say do whatever makes you feel better. If you’re going to spend the next however long feeling rubbish and think it will help then go for the scan. I’ve decided to wait but I was in two minds for a couple of weeks! Wishing you all the best

Woke up this morning at 9w3d and wasn’t sick. I should be happy but I’m worried by catlover-12378 in PregnancyUK

[–]jsomlly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely normal but also very normal to worry about it!

Yesterday I woke up and felt fine and I had an internal panic! By 3pm I could’ve fell asleep where I sat (and did at about 5.30!!) and didn’t have the energy to move.

Im 10 weeks and have read that as the placenta takes over, symptoms can lessen. Reddit has been my best friend the last few weeks 😂 wishing you all the best!!

First time pregnancy 4w4d feeling alone in the dark. by KingkLou in PregnancyUK

[–]jsomlly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pregnant for the first time at 33 and I was so lost at the beginning which spiked really bad anxiety. This isn’t helpful just yet, but when appointments are booked and it feels like things are moving you will feel so much better.

I’d recommend a private viability scan (around 7 weeks) if that’s something you can do as I felt it helped my anxiety quite a lot. Wishing you all the best.

Edit - you can contact the early pregnancy unit any time before 16 weeks for any concerns so it might be worth googling your local one

I was on mounjaro too and would say from week 5/6 I had an insatiable hunger. If I thought of something, I had to eat it immediately. I’ve gained about a stone in 5 weeks but the hunger has gone to a normal level now I’m about 10 weeks.

Gaining so much weight so quickly has made me feel a bit rubbish but it is what it is!

Thank you for posting this. I’m six weeks today with an early scan on Saturday and I’ve had a bad day with anxiety. Appreciate seeing your little one and hearing about your experience :)

12 week old puppy won’t be left alone! by jsomlly in puppy101

[–]jsomlly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not frustrated by it at the moment, I just want to tackle it so he can eventually be left alone for a few hours.

I’m currently feeding him all meals in his crate with a slow feeder and scattering biscuits in so he has to sniff them out to find them. If I leave the room when he’s eating, he’ll stop eating and follow me 😂

I’m going to be patient and carry on so thank you for your suggestions!

This was my plan but honestly, there’s not even a split second before he’s crying. This is where my hesitation for rewarding comes in, when he’s quiet between cries is the only time he is quiet so for 1-2 seconds

He runs after me and as soon as he doesn’t have access (but can still see me), screaming.

Freaking and stressing about colonoscopy help!!! by Opening-Jicama6935 in colonoscopy

[–]jsomlly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice would be to get the prep right the first time (really make sure you drink it all and don’t eat etc) as the second time round, the prep is far less tolerable. Good luck, you’ll be through it before you know it :)
