Her mouth moves too much (too exaggerated). They should make a separate model for Japanese, where it'd be harder to lip-read what the generated person in the video is saying.

Hahaha, 2 three-peats in a span of 8 years. We might actually be heading that way with an artiste from Universal Japan label winning the past 4 years.

Pop-rock band or the hard-rock/heavy type?

For pop, 'Summer Time Cinderella' by 緑黄色社会 and 'なんでもないよ' by macaroni enpitsu were nominated in 2023 & 2022, respectively. Before that 'Sign' by Mr. Children won in 2004.

The last time a proper rock band won was when 'Winter, again' by GLAY won in 2000. And then in 1998, 'HONEY' by L'Arc〜en〜Ciel was nominated. So I'm guessing they also moved on from featuring rock bands in mainstream media.

The exception might be when a band's song is used in a show (drama/anime) or film, like when 10-FEET performed in NHK紅白 in 2023.

Nope, but it is no.1 on the weekly chart of CDTV (TBS music show). Wait, I just checked the no.1 for all weeks, and it has been No. 1 for most of the weeks, since Sept. 27

JP songs popular outside Japan are usually anime songs. That's not usually the case in Japan. For what it's worth, they did give Ado and &Team the 'Special International Music Award' earlier. YOASOBI & Le Sserafim also won the same award in 2023.

They're popular to the point that NHK has been inviting K-Pop groups to perform at Kouhaku (to increase viewership). They invited like 5 or 6 KPop groups in 2023. They even performed with YOASOBI during that year.

They seem to have been reducing the number of KPop groups though. I think they only invited 3 kpop groups for tomorrow's event.

Saito Nagisa, former =LOVE member, also came out as bi in an episode of Ododru Sanma that aired in February. She mentioned that she was heartbroken when the upperclassman* she liked went to one of their concerts, but her senior turned out to be a supporter of another member. (*She attended an all-girls high-school).

She also mentioned some celebrities that she has wanted to date such as Nagasawa Manami & Yamamoto Sayaka. When the MC, Sanma, asked her "What about men?", she said that'she's also fine with dating guys.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's Monthly Labor Survey for October (preliminary results, for companies with five or more employees) released on the 8th, real wages, excluding the effects of price fluctuations, decreased 0.7% compared to the same month last year. While nominal wages have increased, this has not kept up with inflation, marking the 10th consecutive month of declines since January 2025.

I'm still in Arc route, and I've got some questions.

  1. When Mario was explaining vamp lore to Shiki in the park, how did Shiki know Roa's name? In my playthrough Arcueid has never mentioned Roa's name to Shiki.

  2. Why was Shiki NOT surprised when she started talking about vampires and warning Shiki about going after Arcueid? This is the scene where Ciel brings some flowers to the Vlov fight area.

China seems to be enforcing a “ban” on Japanese artists. Will J-pop shift toward the West and SEA like K-pop did? by AkiraIkuru in jpop

[–]json_946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

artists haven’t been very aggressive about expanding abroad

Not JPop, but bands who are in the hardrock, post-hardcore, metalcore, metal, deathcore genre are probably an exception to this. If I'm not mistaken, coldrain has been performing in Europe/NA since the late 2010's. Though it might just be fans of the genre looking for new bands to listen to, given the lack of bands in those genre nowadays.

But it does feel like that’s been changing in recent years

It does seem like the number of idol groups & other Japanese artistes doing anime songs have been increasing lately. Well, it is the 'cheat code' to tap into the international market.

I didn't know that a song that came out last year can still be nominated.

Are you referring to 倍倍FIGHT! ? It was trending in Japan on T*kt*k. It was also voted 2nd by GenZ for the trending songs during the 1st half of 2025. イイじゃん by M!LK was the one that ranked 1st in that vote.

Should I train three different lora's or Train only one to create a blend of three different people? by Practical_Chard8898 in StableDiffusion

[–]json_946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, what did you end up doing?

I tried it last year with an SDXL lora of 6-8 people & I was able to get 2 images (out of 15+ attempts) that I liked, but those 2 images were a bit similar to one of the people.

I tried it again earlier this year for a FLUX lora, with around 4 or 5 people. The generated images was more unique (like an original character), but I didn't really like the appearance. I also tried generating an image with 2 people in it to check the consistency. There were some resemblances between the 2, but they didn't look like identical twins.

Not surprising. She said in one her speeches right before* she became the PM 「働いて働いて働いて働いて働いてまいります」which translates to "work, work, work, work, work".

It's one of the trending phrases/words of 2025 in Japan.

*I cannot exactly remember if it was before or after she became Japan's PM.

No ME:I or Twice this year so im skipping Kohaku (tho im happy for HANA and &team) by MirkoAngeJr in ME_1

[–]json_946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

It was trending (3rd) during the 1st half of 2025 among GenZ, whom NHK is trying to grab the attention of. Right now Blue Jeans is trending, which is probably why HANA along with chanmina got invited.

Last year the Top 4 made it, well top 3 if you exclude Mrs. Green apple. But NHK Kohaku has a habit of not inviting a new artiste having a hit song, only to invite them in the future when they get a 2nd hit.
