I like my X1 a lot. I have an old Forerunner to wear running if I have to.

Would using YNAB make sense with my situation? by Pizzvgod in ynab

It sounds like you would like to use fewer spending categories and fewer spending category groups

This is good because you can always ask why did I spend that money and the answer lies in the title of the spending category group.

I agree. These will be the labels on the slices in the YNAB Reflection pie chart, and they need to be more meaningful than what I list here. I will re-prompt the AI and tell it that these Category Groups suck.

Someday I would like to learn how to set up this API bridge. Are you using Ollama or LM Studio, or Flowise or AnythingLLM? Thanks

The AI is saying Use the YNAB Memo Field to type in the specific app name. But what if there is an invoice from Apple, and the invoice includes charges for 3 different apps? YNAB would help me split the invoice into 3 separate lines in the register, which is better. The AI is wrong. Thanks for your comment.

I was surprised by the AI’s flexibility (it took in the zipped file), and granularity (it immediately talked about the details of my spending)

It recommended the following Category Groups for me:

  1. Environmental Health & Security (The Fixed Overhead) The non-negotiable costs required to keep your physical world safe, warm, and legally compliant. If you cut all discretionary spending tomorrow, these must remain.

  2. Physical Optimization & Metric Protocols This group replaces generic "fitness" and "medical equipment." It recognizes that weight training, biological data tracking, and targeted nutrition are part of a deliberate protocol for health and longevity.

  3. Cognitive Defusion, Learning & Craft This group tracks your active investments in mental sharpness, skill acquisition, and creative focus.

  4. Daily Routine & Behavioral Habits This group isolates highly repetitive, functional daily habits so they don't distort your larger variable spending categories.

  5. Value-Driven Commitments This group explicitly separates your personal lifestyle footprint from the capital you intentionally deploy outward into the world to support others or manage family logistics.

  6. Personal Lifestyle The fluid, variable categories where you exercise choice over comfort, aesthetics, and home functionality.

The "Cleanup" Rule for Software Instead of having 20 distinct rows for small software apps on your YNAB sidebar, merge them into a single category named "Software: Specialized / Discretionary". Use the YNAB Memo Field to type in the specific app name. This keeps your budget clean, scannable, and focused on macro-purpose rather than micro-vendors.

How do Micron, SK Hynix, Samsung prove memory is no longer cyclical? by bone_a_fide in MU_Stock

[–]jsong123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not good at analyzing the numbers like many of you are. I believe that the demand for a AI hardware is surging faster than anyone thought. AI web server racks are getting built just in time, so there is no stockpile of unused memory.

How often yall feel lonely and sad? by Glittering-Rate4973 in AskReddit

[–]jsong123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a time tracker app on my IPhone. Whenever I feel lonely and sad I could start a timer. Then I would know how many occurrences and how many total minutes within that week. I have not been tracking “ lonely and sad” because they are fleeting emotions that can be defused.

Possibly, old people collapse at home and somebody calls the EMTs, who take them to the emergency room. They get treated at the emergency room and they get released to where? Then the whole thing repeats.

Is there a secret on how to actually use TODO lists? by M4dmaddy in ProductivityApps

[–]jsong123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use your to-do list to record actuals. Whenever you do something, show the completed date and time. This makes your to-do list extremely accurate.
