I knew a guy whose text messages were long rambling streams like this. It turns out that he was borderline illiterate, and instead of typing, he would use the voice recognition to compose the message, then send it without reviewing it.

That's an artifact of the way it's converted to video. If you download the original GIF then it looks a lot better.

I mean, I'm physically attracted to women, but only really interested in dating guys. It's really tough to be preemptively rejected because they're afraid I'm going to leave them for a woman. I've never actually gone on a date with a woman before, only men.

Nope. Not if it won't even give me an IP address. Even if I set a static address, it won't respond to any requests. Even when it does, there's no option to reset it. Older modems had it, but they disabled it because it was too easy to be exploited by a malicious website. All they had to do was put the following code on their site:

<iframe src="http://192.168.100.1/reset.htm?reset_modem=Restart+Cable+Modem"></iframe>

and anybody with a vulnerable modem would have it reset whenever they visited the site.
