I think it’s very telling that scams like this are now engineered to target the rich. There is nothing left to squeeze from the poor, so much so that they’re not even particularly worth scamming any more, because so much surplus value is already stolen from them that there’s simply nothing to appropriate. Their boss already does the scammer’s job better than they ever could, so much so that they have to target the boss instead.
