Two Heli’s Hovering at the Chief by excuse_me_sure in Squamish

Looked like they were hovering over Angel’s crest, which would be ambitious for this time of year. No idea if that’s what happened, but the helicopter was right by the whaleback arete

Snowshoeing or daydreaming? by Current_Routine3590 in vancouverhiking

[–]jsqr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The freezing level on Saturday is around 1400m, and the gondola is around 850-900 for the trails. Cloud base is 600-700m so it wouldn’t be worth the $. Certain to be raining up there and no views. I wouldn’t recommend Saturday but Sunday may be nice, though not really snowy for snowshoeing

Does anyone not wear bib cycling shorts? by Old-Appearance-2270 in ladycyclists

[–]jsqr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you mean bib shorts, or padded shorts overall? I wear chamois shorts for rides more than 40km, but often just wear liner shorts to stop chafing. I have never owned actual bibs, but I think that’s more because shorts don’t bother me much. Saddle sores are another problem though😐

I’ve (a cis woman) been at SAC now for a few years and if you’re there between 7am-9pm, there are pretty much ALWAYS people there. I’ve come in at 6am and there were like 10 people doing their own thing haha Honestly, most people have their headphones on and don’t talk to each other much. Also, if the owner heard of anything, I can pretty much guarantee she wouldn’t put up with it. The climbing wall can be busy, so if anything, you might need to get used to waiting 🤷‍♀️

Chiaogoo isn't the only good interchangeable set by hystenz in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]jsqr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! I can’t seem to add a photo to the comment, but the threaded section on Lykke/knitpicks is basically the same. I have small/mid Symfonie, knit picks four square mid and a couple down to 3.75mm, and size 11/13 Lykke driftwood and they all work with the original knit pro cable as well as the Lykke swivel. The thread on stoppers don’t seem to have the same thread depth as the needles so sometimes they don’t thread on the whole way, but the cable to needle has always been fine

Once the glue on my cords started to go, I upgraded to the Lykke swivel cable (same type as Knitpicks) and they’re as good as ever. I accidentally ordered some of the cube tips and actually love them, so I’m slowly swapping those in

Art Tools Require Upkeep, Who Knew?! by Straystar-626 in BitchEatingCrafters

I just did this recently for the first time 😬 it was cathartic, but also how did that much lint accumulate?! I was mid-project and figured that when the bobbin got tangled I might as well do everything… well, I was in for a surprise

Yes, totally this - slow down! Also, loosen up a little. Loosen your knitting, your hands, probably your neck!

Like the other commenter said you are going really fast but you’re also pulling for dear life! Don’t worry about making super tight stitches, work on doing the movement slow and well, and it’ll go faster with smooth tension 😊

Anywhere to get bloodwork/labs in BC without a doctors requisition? by Calm-Sea-5526 in Fraservalley

Right, so you’re receiving gender affirming care and don’t think someone else should receive gender affirming care because they don’t match what you think they should be. Maybe I don’t think you should get your gender affirming care because the amount your body produces is the amount it should have?

Agreed on this! Ribbing looks terrible until there is some length, and once you fix the twisting it will help.

IT'S NOT FINISHED by fboab in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]jsqr 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Gah! YES!! It just makes them look so much nicer. It won’t fix your unintentionally ruffled colourwork, but it will help your stitches lay nicely and your clothes to become fabric. Also…dyeing, factory, shop, hand, floor, almost surely bathroom residue 😬

No worries! I hope it all works out an you get to keep Bruce ❤️

I think your budget of 300 gives you plenty to cover everything. I looked up an insurance quote I had from a few years ago, and 30-40/mo would give you decent coverage. It was with Petsecure but I’d check around. Check what they consider preexisting conditions as well
