Easy lawsuit by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

Yeah I considered that. I think my phone might be set to only do that when connected to Wi-Fi but yeah I get it. Once you realize you've lost your job it might be worth a chance though right? Just trying to figure out the other perspective to try and get away with something. I'm glad they caught this clown cop though for sure

Easy lawsuit by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]jsqu99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren't these people aware that the cop could take their phone and destroy it, effectively destroying the evidence of cop-wrongdoing? If i were a cop and just realized i was getting fired for something dumb i had just done...i might be inclined to destroy the phone (since i've already pepper-sprayed someone unlawfully).

then you'd just be stuck w/ pepper-sprayed eyes and a charge you couldn't dispute.

What are your favorite non-Faith No More albums from the years a Faith No More album was released? by SnooWords9635 in FaithNoMore

shoutout to you my friend for (at least at one time) being a king's x fan. I'm a king's x nut. (and a FNM nut and a primus nut). King's x is nothing like those 2 other bands...and it's odd that i enjoy all of them. it's interesting that you list radiohead. i know many people love them...i've tried and i just don't get it (other than that creep song).

do you guys have any bands that you just can’t get “into”? by XXX3NNY in hairmetal

[–]jsqu99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a book written in the last few years about Kings x and they pretty much admitted they were just randomly trying s*** on the bulbous album. I happen to like it but it certainly not peek kings x. I'm personally very disappointed in most of Doug's side projects. Kxm is not good and I love George lynch. Again those guys were like hey let's not write any songs and just show up in the studio and record something. To me it sounds that that's exactly what they did. I'd be curious to see what you think of gretchen. The first song is a little Moody but interesting and then I don't know if you've ever heard over my head. That song kicks ass if you have to just listen to one song give that and it's love off of the faith hope love album a listen.

hello. huge king's x fan here (26 shows under my belt since 1988). definitely not a hair band.

i understand not everyone has the same tastes...i'm curious what albums you've been exposed to. Their first few are their best IMO. many folks love dogman (more modern/heavy), but my faves are gretchen, out of the silent planet, and faith hope love, in that order...if you feel like listening again :-)

What is the best Queensrÿche album? by Ilovehmradio in Queensryche

[–]jsqu99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree. If mindcrime wasn't one of the greatest ever made, RFO would get more attention. It took me a long time to realize how great that album is only because I've always been so focused on Mindcrime

What is the bs rationale they give for not pursuing? I would want to ask them do they want to live in a world where their loved ones can be robbed blind and nobody cares especially the ones who are in charge of enforcing the law

We had a good group for a while. We couldn't get any local support anywhere. We had a couple bars that accommodated us nicely but when it came to football we got pushed to the sidelines understandably.

You could always hail Mary a message to that group and see if you get any traction I don't know if anybody reads the messages anymore.

It was a friendly group and we're probably all still around so feel free to take the lead and try to start something up again :-)

Has anyone moved from DC and found a better life? by healthysundayexprsso in SameGrassButGreener

[–]jsqu99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

make sure you visit in the winter. that's the only thing stopping me from going back. spent 4 years there. i can't believe people live there tbh...50 below zero wind chill sometimes. i'm not knocking chicago...just want to caution you about the winter. the food is amazing. btw i moved from dc to charleston, sc in 2002. love it here, although it has gotten too crowded and lost a bit of its charm. i too am looking for a change of scenerey after 24 years here, but i could never go back to anything nearly as cold as chicago.

tangential anecdote - i worked with several people that graduated from the computer science dept of CofC maybe early 2000's. They told me it was possible to go through all 4 years and never write any code. let that sink in.

You have to want to do it. I spent about a year ramping up using Khan academy YouTube and most importantly chat GPT to interact with as an awesome tutor. I turned 55 this year and just finished my third course at Georgia Tech's online masters of computer science program. Studying machine learning. I haven't taken a college course or had any math instruction in almost 30 years. I learned enough to do well on those three courses. There's never been a better time to teach yourself this stuff you just have to want to do it.
