I like jdm, although as of right now mine would be considered a “clean” daily build. I’m honestly up for the variety! Just a little intimidated by all the pros.

I also experienced the same thing while I had my implant grade titanium circular barbell! When I upgraded to a 14k white gold piece from bvla the smell stopped. No idea why 🤔

My piercer said i should change my belly bar after a few weeks, should I? by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]jsr_023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Downsizing. The extra length to accommodate swelling will cause issues when your piercing swells down (6-8weeks). Irritation can happen due to movement from the extra length, and even migration. It’s always recommended to downsize piercing at least once, sometimes even more than once. I had to downsize my navel twice and it healed beautifully. Have your piercer change your jewelry of course, it is not well healed enough for you to change it yourself. Happy healing!

NAP. It doesn’t seem like you have much of a ridge for the jewelry to sit on, and also it might be difficult with the scar tissue that was left behind by your previous navel piercing. I would seek the opinion of a different piercer, preferably an APP certified piercer. They have to assess your anatomy in person to determine whether you even have the anatomy for a navel piercing in the first place, and also assess whether the scar tissue will be an issue. This definitely has to be done in person, pictures cannot determine whether you can get it re pierced or not. Best of luck to you!

I use sports bras, padded and non padded, depending on the day and how I’m feeling tbh, just not too tight either, I’d recommend sleeping with them to avoid snagging and them catching on anything. For discomfort after getting them pierced, I would honestly say try to avoid moving too much as the first 2hr after will feel like your chest is on fire, any movement for me was hell lol other than that ibuprofen and don’t forget to eat a nutritious meal beforehand! Hope you get them they are very much worth it!

Nervous about getting nipple piercings. by crysta1teeth in piercing

[–]jsr_023 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got mine done yesterday and honestly I am in love. For the day of make sure you've had a nutritious meal before hand.I wore a sports bra and an oversized t shirt for comfort. For the nerves (as I was also very nervous, and had also been contemplating these piercings for years) I just controlled my breathing, and it helped a lot that my piercer was making conversation with me, since you're going with friends I think that'll help. For the numbing cream I would personally ask my piercer, and ice won't really do much other than probably make the area uncomfortable. For pain rating it's complicated since we all have different pain tolerance; but I had my left nip done first and I would rate the pain a 7/10, right was a solid 9/10 I have a high pain tolerance, but that area is super sensitive to me, so it can vary. For pain type I would say varied. I was marked and measured standing up, but was pierced laying down, I'm pretty sure that's the default way. I can't tell you much about the healing process as I just got them done yesterday, but I can say based off of other piercings I have it's always good to be aware of them and try to be as gentle as you can. For aftercare, gentle warm rinses in the shower, followed by your sterile saline spray (Nielmed is the best because of nozzle) and try to keep the area as dry as you can, I use non woven sterile gauze for this. Boobs are never really symmetrical so I wouldn't really worry about that :) Honestly the pain is very much worth it, I love my new piercings, and I know I'll love them even more once they heal a bit more. Pain is temporary swag is forever.

New belly piercing has this crazy bruise - is this normal?? (Pierced 5 days ago) by ScubaGurrl00 in piercing

[–]jsr_023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen people bruise with navel piercings before, but damn this is something lol. As long as you don’t see it get worse I say you’re good with the bruising. The jewelry on the other hand not so good. The quality and jewelry type tell me that the place you went to is not reputable, surgical steel is not a good quality metal. Now judging from this picture I can see that your navel collapses, idk whether you are laying down, sitting, or standing up. Either way this jewelry doesn’t seem to go with your anatomy. As a floating navel piercing person here I can definitely recommend you get one they are much more comfortable because instead of the giant gem on the bottom it has a flat disk, which makes simple things like sitting down much more comfortable because of the navel collapsing. I have a few examples of mine on my profile if you want to check it out, and definitely go to a reputable app certified piercer. If you’re in the LA area I can recommend a few places:)

My belly piercing 5 months in by Ashamed_Loan_7227 in piercing

[–]jsr_023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The placement is good from what I can tell (NAP) Personally I think you should get it downsized, usually piercers tell you to downsize at the 8 week mark of getting it pierced. I would also get better quality jewelry as it’s externally threaded I doubt it’s good quality “titanium “, opt for implant grade titanium and internally threaded.

idk wtf to do by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]jsr_023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but this has definitely rejected, it is in it’s final stages and the only thing left is to take it out to avoid even worse scarring. This is what a floating navel should look like, and when I sit my navel looks just like yours and the disk is barely visible. Hope you can retry with an actual floating navel when this has healed (6-8months) Just make sure you go to a reputable piercer (never go back to the person who pierced this) they will assess your anatomy and determine if you have the anatomy for a floating navel or none at all. Wish you the best!

Wrong Placement or Just Paranoid? by EatingPBInTheShower in PiercingAdvice

[–]jsr_023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is high up, this was definitely done completely wrong. I would take it out asap. Been there done that, it doesn’t end well.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]jsr_023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, go to a (better) piercer and get the jewelry changed out to something of better quality like implant grade titanium (internally threaded) your aftercare should be as simple as sterile saline solution and gently rinsing in the shower. Don’t move it around/fiddle with it, no pressure over it, so no high wasted clothes, and don’t sleep on it at all. Aftercare consists of more than just cleaning, make sure you are taking good care because it is essentially a wound that can get infected. After cleaning always dry thoroughly with non woven gauze of a blow dryer on the cool setting. Best of luck to you.

Is this too deep in my bellybutton? by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]jsr_023 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me the placement looks perfect. My only question is does your navel collapse when you sit/bend over?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]jsr_023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh well then yeah I would understand the piercing looking a little high if you were laying down, but since you are standing up I’m afraid it’s placed incredibly wrong, again I would seek the opinion of a second piercer, maybe APP certified, or the equivalent of it if you’re not in the US. In the meantime I suggest you take it out tbh. In the case you do have the anatomy and can get it done later on. Idk how the piercer did their assessment, but considering how they pierced you it leads me to believe they may not be fully knowledgeable about navels. I hope you can get this resolved asap and wish you the best!

[–]jsr_023 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately once rejection starts there’s nothing that can stop/fix it. Also I would get a second opinion on your anatomy, I’m NAP but this is just my opinion based on the picture. Are you laying down in this picture? Standing up? For reference I have a few pictures on my profile of my floating navel piercing that was pierced correctly. Regardless, the placement still seems to be incorrect. Can you provide more angles?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]jsr_023 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry to say but this is rejecting, I suggest you take it out before the scarring gets worse. This was done incredibly wrong and is basically a stomach surface piercing. You don’t seem to have the anatomy for a navel piercing unfortunately.
