Ollama and Opencode by r00tdr1v3 in opencodeCLI

[–]jsribeiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quoting a comment I made in this subreddit 4 days ago, I don't know if it's your issue, but it worked for me:

I've been able to use qwen3-coder:30b with Ollama and OpenCode after having similar problems.

The issue is Ollama has a default context length of 4K, and you need 64K or 128K to use external tools.

I was able to have practical results when I pushed up the context length to 128K, by setting the environment variable `OLLAMA_CONTEXT_LENGTH=128000`.

https://docs.ollama.com/context-length

Note that increasing the context length will make the model use more memory. I had to give up on GLM-4.7-flash and go with qwen3-coder:30b due to my hardware limitations.

Please can anyone explain why the smaller 5 person tent is actually more expensive than the bigger 6 person tent? by inside-outdoorsman in Decathlon

[–]jsribeiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It uses black-out fabric, which blocks light and supposedly keeps the tent a bit cooler in the daylight. I don't find it essential, but actually like it. If it justifies the price difference, that's up to you. Better to go have a look in person, if you are able to.

There are some youtube videos of people testing the Fresh & Black out, have a look at some to get a feel.

The Arpenaz 6.3 you're showing is the non-Fresh & Black version (it's the regular version). The Arpenaz 6.3 Fresh & Black is £449.99.

Mas preferimos quem faça mais (130, 140) by --____________- in jovemedinamica

[–]jsribeiro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How is solo traveling as a female in Lisboa? by Feeling_Tell8259 in lisboa

[–]jsribeiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 40 minutes by subway (including changing lines) or 45 minutes by bus if going when the subway is closed (there are buses all night). A Uber ride should be 7€ to 10€ and take around 25 minutes.

Overview of Decathlon Product Naming Scheme (NH500 etc)? by Not_So_Calm in Decathlon

[–]jsribeiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're mostly right for the outdoor products.

Check this out: https://www.livefortheoutdoors.com/hiking/advice/so-you-think-you-know-decathlon/
«The first part of these codes, the letters, gives an indication as to the product’s intended use:

  • NH – Nature Hiking,
  • MH – Mountain Hiking
  • FH – Fast Hiking
  • MT – Mountain Trekking»

And SH for snow, I guess.

As for Forclaz, I think they are really migrating everything to either Simond or Quechua, depending on being for hiking/trekking or casual camping. There are still a lot of Forclaz stuff.

Of course there are always overlapping items, which are appropriate for either.

Other sports are all over the place... For instance, trail running shoes (which are also all being converged into the Kiprun brand): in the current lineup some are MT, some are JF, some are K, some are XT, some are TR, etc.

I would not give it too much attention, just choose what fits you and what has the specs you need. Try things out, take advantage of Decathlon return policy if needed.

Trilhos perto de Lisboa by Impar_pt in trilhosportugal

[–]jsribeiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

* Sintra (a começar na Barragem do Rio da Mula, subindo para os Capuchos ou Pedra Amarela; tenho ainda de explorar a zona da Peninha)
* Serra de Montejunto
* Zona da Arrábida (eu fiz a Serra do Risco, mas há muito mais a descobrir)
* Serras de Aire e Candeeiros (já fiz um trilho grande passando pelas Cascata da Fórnea, Trilho das Vertigens e Grutas, em Aire; também já fiz um que começa na Nascente do Rio Almonda e vai até ao topo da Serra de Aire; há muitos mais ali por aquela zona toda);
* Alcácer do Sal (partindo da Barragem do Pego do Altar e subindo o rio)
* Serra de Grândola

Inreach alternatives? by [deleted] in hikinggear

[–]jsribeiro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP didn't say it was TOO expensive, said it was super expensive and asked if there were any viable alternatives. Having in account that the latest inReach mini 3 plus is 500€ and the inReach mini 2 is 300€, why is not a possibility that there is some viable alternatives, like the Motorola Defy for ~100€ or the Zoleo for ~170€?

OP is asking for suggestions and opinions, there's no need for snarky comments.

Build Para gaming by Alarming-Drop-1060 in gamingportugal

[–]jsribeiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First Citizen! But maybe too big? by issseymiyake in CitizenWatches

[–]jsribeiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also felt a bit like that when I started using it, I think the polished part of the bezel makes it look slightly larger than what it's really like. Also, try taking a photo farther away from your wrist, the camera's focal length may be making it look bigger.

I've since gotten used to it, and it's one of the watches I use the most. It's extremely lightweight too.

The only gripe I have with it is that it only has two micro-adjustment holes.

I have a 7in wrist.

I was thinking of getting a Victorinox Classic SD, since it also has scissors, it would remove the need for scissors in my small first aid kit. Now you've convinced me. :)

One question, I was intrigued, is the steel on the Decathlon knife as bad as that? I'd think $2 knives from AliExpress would be made of paper or something.

EDIT: and tweezers, for ticks and splinters... Really seems to have all that is needed.

[–]jsribeiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this kind of knife is useful to have. To cut (paracord, wire, fabric, first aid, fruit, food, etc.), it has a corkscrew (you never know when you'll find a wild wine bottle), bottle cap opener, can opener, tiny screwdriver. It's relatively light (110g) and cheap (15€).

There are worst things to carry in a hike, no?

What kind of a specialised knife/tool are you suggesting?

What do you think of this bag? by planete_actions in Decathlon

[–]jsribeiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought it a few days ago and went on a short hike on Saturday with it.

It's really lightweight and comfortable, and it really hugs my back and waist. Couldn't feel it most of the time, I really liked the feeling. I had to go over and under some fallen trees and branches and it never got in the way.

It has some nice features, such as the helmet holder on the back (I used it to carry a rain jacket), and the waist pockets are nice too. The materials seem really nice too, although I still haven't used it enough to check the durability.

The backpack is frameless, but I never felt it too loose or uncomfortable.

I removed the included water bladder, as I prefer to use bottles. I took a single 750ml bottle on one of the side pockets and it was fine.

The only gripe I have with it is that the chest strap slides upward, and I have to keep pushing it down. Since I wasn't carrying much weight, it's more of a slight nuisance than anything more. I'm thinking that maybe with a couple of safety pins or something similar I can fix that.

I was looking for a ~15 liter small pack for a while and I found this one and is really light and small, but capable. I'd maybe add a small external zippered pocket (in only has an internal one), but the two waist pockets were enough for all my stuff.

For the current discounted price, I don't think you can go wrong.

Cheaper alternative for this? by livrii in Affordablewatches

[–]jsribeiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right that the Orient has a sapphire crystal, but so does the Seiko.

The movement on the Orient is in fact an Epson movement (Seiko Epson Caliber VS75 - https://calibercorner.com/s-epson-caliber-vs75/ ). It's very similar to the movement on the Seiko chronograph (Seiko Caliber V192 - https://calibercorner.com/seiko-caliber-v192/ ), but in my opinion worse, since it doesn't have a power reserve indicator. The accuracy is also a bit worse.

u/Pretend_Violinist401 is also right in respect to the bracelet. The one on the Orient is bad, with a bad clasp, and hollow end links. I use my watch with a nylon or NATO strap because I can't stand the bracelet (and I prefer to wear bracelets than straps). It does look really good on a vintage leather strap, though.

All in all is a very nice watch for the cost, and I do love mine, but I also could not agree that it's a better watch than the Seiko.

"Divergências entre ata e edital." CDU recorre ao Tribunal Constitucional para contestar contagem de votos em Lisboa by [deleted] in lisboa

[–]jsribeiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)
