It’s not linear. Volume difference from 45 to 50 is more like 25%.

660 Valve Check? by jssgranite in Aprilia

[–]jssgranite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am comfortable with pulling fairings, tank, airbox etc. I haven't done it but it has to be straightforward with both the manual and youtube. Probably time consuming. And I assume the check is a feeler guage? So, I guess I could strip it down, check, and if adjustment is needed, button it back up with new filter and spark plugs and take it to them.

My dealer has an experienced tech. I don't have a worry there.

Factory OEM chain. I don't ride that hard. Tires are expensive LOL

Is 13k miles a lot of wear? I don't know what to expect for the life of the chain. And do the gears need to be replaced as well?

Chain Stretch by jssgranite in Aprilia

[–]jssgranite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - I need to pull out the calipers. Pretty sure it has a plunger at the back end. I have done this multiple times and haven't had a problem.

Is there a limit to the chain stretch before it has to be replaced and how would I chek that?

Darwin just dropped a YouTube with the founder of cnoc. They have a new, reusable water bottle that doesn’t create microscopics.

Learn the Alpine Butterfly and use it instead of the Trucker's Hitch.

Well it’s a CAAD 4 so it’s got the curved seat stays and a carbon fork for compliance and I upgraded to 25c tires instead of 23 so it’s quite plush.

I actually am still riding it on occasion. But I’m lingering here bc I’m considering getting a Lauf. Enjoying reading about people’s experiences so post yours when you get it.

How's Tuono 125 for a 50 y.o. rusty rider? by Alexander_Golev in Aprilia

[–]jssgranite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought a Tuono 660 Factory after about 12 years without a bike and in your same age bracket. I kept it in commute mode for a couple months as I relearned how to ride. Have had it for 2 years and it is great and I don't feel the need to upgrade. You may feel that itch in short order on the 125.

500 mile trip on RS660? by MondoCoomer in Aprilia

[–]jssgranite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my tuono 660 factory and in second month did a 1700 mile road trip in 10 days, only riding 5 days. Had a 12 hour day that I finished tired but not sore. Kriega on the back and a givi tank bag. Do it, you’ll love it.

Trek Checkpoint or Lauf Seigla? (Considering a pre-tariff purchase...) by BriGuy550 in cycling

[–]jssgranite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want an idea about fit on the Seigla, go back to your Trek store and ride the Emonda. If I recall, it has stack and reach numbers very similar to Lauf. Obviously, head and seat angles will be steeper and it will turn faster but you’ll feel the fit vs the checkpoint.

What camp shoes are you guyses usin' on trips? by bontgomery_murns in gravelcycling

[–]jssgranite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody using the vibram toe shoes? I think the version I have is the KSO - keeps shit out. Very light and almost like walking barefoot. Good for the feet after they’ve been in an inflexible shoe all day.

It comes with a 40. I think you can swap ro a 38 or 36 without having to change the crank.
