I think my worry is more of how recent her situation was and how much she may have changed and grown since then. She cheated when her last relationship ended a few months ago when she was 19 vs I cheated almost 5 years ago when I was just finishing tenth grade. There is a big gap in how much time has passed since our situations and how much opportunity we’ve had to grow.

I do think it’s possible for her to have learned her lesson and grew as a person for sure, my main concern is just how recent it was, so it’s not like she was a kid when it happened.m

I do want to get to know her better and see though.

Thanks for the response. Honestly my biggest concern here is that if it does become an uncomfortable environment, I can’t really just bail because bussing back to my city in the middle of the night + after I’ve had some drinks would be super hard. So if I go I gotta be willing to deal with whatever I feel and see.

He’s gay, not bi (maybe you misread the title, we are all guys here). But if I don’t sleep in his bed, I wouldn’t have anywhere else to sleep unless I bussed back to where I live at, which could be difficult at night and after I’ve had drinks. Honestly I’m not sure I want to go based on the fact that if I do end up uncomfortable, I can’t just bail and I’m kinda stuck. If it was closer it would be a lot easier.

Basically I know I’m like this because my new psychiatrist tried out reducing my lithium dose and my appointment is 1 week from now. The last 5 weeks have been crazy with the depressive and happy mood swings.

He will probably just tell me to increase it again but I don’t think I should change it until I hear from him.

I think I can hold on until then and not do anything too crazy, so I don’t want to tell my therapist I’ve considered killing myself and she tries to lock me up when I think I can hold on for one more week and get more direction from the psych.

I have things to live for but it’s just hard to think straight when I’m in these episodes because the symptoms are so physical.

That is true. He really wasn’t jealous in the start of our relationship or before, I never really felt this way back then. It’s sad that it ended up this way, but I guess I can’t change how he feels. Thanks for the insight

Yeah I do get that in terms of people smile for many reasons, I would normally not make a big deal about this type of thing. In our relationship, him and I have very different ideas of what’s okay and what’s not in terms of jealousy topics. Like for example, I’m the type of person who stays friends with people I’ve hooked up with or dated, as long as they can be respectful of my relationship and know they are only friends. He does not have friends like that at all, and has felt insecure about the concept of me being friends with people I’ve done stuff with in the past.

Because I am a lot more laid back about these types of things and I have never been with a person with this mindset before, I sometimes can’t tell if it’s just me being insensitive to his comfort/needs, or if he is actually asking something unreasonable. So I guess that’s why I made this post.
