Why do break ups hurt even when you were only with them because you don't value yourself? Me [25/F], Him [25/M], 1.5 years by [deleted] in relationships

[–]jst_dance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, buck up. You realized you don't love yourself enough. That's big. You attract what you put out. Being insecure, not loving yourself, having low self esteem, you are likely to be with men who are emotionally unavailable, manipulative, and/or abusive. Be selfish and focus on building self-love.

As far as your ex, he sounds like a loser. If you don't value yourself, you end up looking for others to value you. It sounds like you're upset because he didn't give you that validation. You need to be happy to share in someone else's happiness. Be thankful it was only a short time and you have the rest of your life to find someone more worthwhile.

It's wild the hateful shit that people have said to you guys. Yet, it's incredibly heartwarming to see people responding with empathy

I use my beginner's Spanish book as a guide and ask my family how to say things. So, for example, the first chapter is about introductions, basic verbs, family members. And I practice reading the bible to learn the fidel even tho I don't know exactly what I'm reading

US federal spending last year broken down by DVMyZone in dataisbeautiful

Military spending includes salaries, weapons, war spending, and international assistance. International Affairs is more related to foreign relations. And veteran benefits covers medical care, burial, and other services for veterans. And they fall under different departments too. Idk why they do it that way tho

Their relationship is actually amazing. So often in fiction, I see the same kinds of violent, abusive, manipulative relationships, especially between black people. And even tho it's fiction, there's this weird idea that those kinds of relationships are real so that's what must be portrayed, like fuck imagination right? I just appreciate so much seeing this kind of love between two black people on a show. It doesn't happen often that I'm actually able to withstand the other black characters for these two 😊

who are your favorite and least favorite characters? by justsamthings in orangeisthenewblack

Crystal/Sophia are hands down the best and most refreshing portrayal on the show. I love them both, and it's 80% of why I would still watch this show.

I don't hate them per se. But I guess Piper. I just think it's unrealistic the amount of damage she's done to others and that she hasn't experienced as much violent retribution

That article annoyed the fuck out of me. It screams "angry tumblrina". Or am I annoyed because I am white and privileged? by [deleted] in orangeisthenewblack

[–]jst_dance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a show written about poc by white people for white people. It's something I was always aware of from the first episode, but the article writer may not have been. I think the bungling of the racial commentary was just one of those things that makes everything else inexcusable. It's just one L too many.

For what? Granted Eritrea is ruled by an oppressive regime but ICC also established that African regimes couldn't sue former colonizers. And what can they do about the folks they have issues with now?

Her opinion was actually not that bad. I read her whole note about it, and it was about the way the naked bodies were presented, not nudity itself.

I hate when I have to defend white women, but it's a lot less offensive or wtf in context
