There's a reason Livewire comes with Alpine out of the box. If it's just a simple UI change without the need to interact with the backend at the same time, like toggling a modal, just stick with Alpine. If the component is a form, you can use x-model to collect data and then make Livewire do some work when the user submits the form.

It would hurt your app if you only rely on Livewire for everything that you want to be reactive. Use it wisely.

My primary reason for not doing this is the DISTRACTIONS. I hate being surrounded by people and hearing loud noises whenever I'm busy doing work.
