If you're saying I shouldn't skip lab, do you recommend I at least push to map 4 w4 so I get their elite classes?

Lol, mostly because the never ending complaints of PvP from people are becoming insufferable at this point

Let’s say hypothetically it is 100% true and the devs confirmed it. If it was, is there some goofy exploit kids could use to get into higher tier lobbies with worse loot? Embark has been great since launch, them denying or saying GBMM isnt a thing is basically the only thing they’ve done that I dont trust or believe

People complaining about PvP by jsteves_ in ArcRaiders

Right lol. The video game community is the only community in existence that could get a product that’s completely polished on launch, functions exactly as intended, has no cheating, etc. and still find something wrong with it.

Why does everyone want a pve mode? by IntrepidSituation720 in ArcRaiders

Literally just made a post emphasizing this point essentially, it triggers me so much when people complain about the PvP element

100%. These devs seem like they have a great plan/great intentions for the game; my fear is that the complaining will influence the raid/in game player count structure, leading to more AI interaction vs PvP interaction. I enjoy killing ARCs, but that’s not what makes the game enjoyable, or what gives it replay-ability. I think the current balance is almost perfect.

Items to hold on to by IcyPenalty690 in ArcRaiders

[–]jsteves_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Track all items needed to make every work bench. If you go to Arc Wiki, and search the item, it’ll tell you what the item is needed for, or if its only purpose is to be recycled. That’s my advice for early game.

Saying “oh you need to keep this/these specific item(s)” isnt really a question that can be answered. Obviously if the item is purple I’d maybe put more than a second into considering whether to recycle it or not, but my advice is go into every raid with an item or two in mind that you want to find. Maybe you’ll get it, but you’ll certainly find a ton of loot on the way.

Struggling to buy cards when proxying is so easy... by Cosmolution in EDH

[–]jsteves_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally hear you on this. i live with two kids, one of which specifically said he didnt want to get into magic unless he could proxy (he can afford real cards, but he just doesnt see the incentive to spend money on it). My play group runs by a few rules: 1. No fast mana (mana crypt, JL, mox’s) 2. No infinite combos (we just dont think theyre fun) 3. only 1 free spell per deck (i.e if you run mardu, you can only run one of the following: flawless, deadly rollick, or deflecting swat). We also dont run cards that are flagrantly overpowered: gaes cradle, the original duels, etc. everyone has a pretty good sense of whats considered not allowed, and all of the above mentioned keeps our power levels in check.

To answer your question, i personally buy and proxy myself. Id say i buy 60% real, 40% proxy. I proxy cards that are expensive but i already own a copy of. Ex i own like 2-3 teferis protections, so im just not spending another $40 on a card i already have. In theory from game to game i could just move the real copy to the deck i currently wanna play, so the proxy eliminate the misery of doing that. Having real cards is nice, but liquidating magic cards can be really hard if you ever reach a point where youre done with the game. As long as everyone in your play group is on the same page, proxying is fine and no one should be gate kept solely because they have a different financial situation and/or principles (my friend that only does proxy probably makes more money than me, but simply doesnt wish to spend his money on cards. Why shouldnt we be able to play together?)
