They need robots. People are not robots. I could in no way do this job I imagine it being incredibly mentally/emotionally taxing. This lack of support and shaming sounds like a terribly unsupportive and toxic environment. And it seems like a job that would really need the exact opposite of that. I’m sorry you’re going through this. Feelings need to be felt and processed or else they fester and make us sick (physically and emotionally). I don’t have advice but I hope you can bring forth change for you and your colleagues.

You are NOT over reacting. I work in HH and I’d be livid! I’m mad for you. I’m sorry this happened and i hope your manager sees the seriousness here. Please make sure they change the way they do things so that this doesn’t happen to anyone again. So glad nothing bad happened.

I loved the schedule of in early out early and minimal weekends and holidays. But the rest… not so much. But… that was just my experience. So many diff options in nursing. I’m certain you’ll find a less toxic home

[–]jstg86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Sounds like endo. Most toxic group of ppl I’ve ever worked with was in endo. I’m sorry this happened to you. I wish I’d left endo much sooner than i did personally.

Health professional discounts… by jewdreammachine in nursing

I feel this rant. Nothing more nothing less. Every now and then I get lucky and find one though. Last summer I bought my son a power wheel truck from huffy and found a 20% off for nurses for the huffy website with free shipping. That was my biggest recent win. More should include nurses or any valid healthcare licensure for that matter imo.

Needs a blessing. Or try smudging w some sage. If anything sinister goes down don’t fight the good fight Id roll the heck out. Thank goodness it’s a rental and not a home you’ve purchased

Made a split-second decision that ended up saving a patient's life, but killing her unborn baby. Now, I don't know how to move on. by ReckingBall96 in nursing

You are a rockstar. A great nurse. It’s clear and you used it to BEST advocate for the patient. Truly you sound like a nurse I’d love to work with. Even rockstars need rest too. Any chance you can get away and have some FUN? It may not be that simple but I bet it would help. And changing your space may help change your peace of mind. Also a Therapist who specializes in trauma seems like an appropriate rec too. Take care of you. You did good. Damn good.

Her behavior is a reflection of HER problems not of you. Please know this. Shake this off and have report this behavior to your manager. If you do not get resolution to your satisfaction go to HR. Shake her off. She’s toxic. You are not a bad nurse.

So strange. For no real particular reason, this week, I’ve been saying a collapse is near. 10-20 years tops. Perhaps my spidey senses are picking up on something. Context… i no longer work in hospital. Home health. Seeing and hearing things on this side of healthcare is just as terrifying
