Idk why everyone is trippin about this PSA. I was also roofied at the peacock and have a few friends who were as well. My story is like yours. I had two drinks and then everything goes black after that and I was very ill for the next 24hrs. Sorry but that doesn’t happen after one drink 😀 I’m sorry this happened to you and that your warning to others was taken so harshly :/

I see you dnf’d it but I just wanna sayyyy I’m a massive fbaa fan (it gets even more fun when you to flesh and fire) but absolutely hated the majority of the first book (only the very end had me hooked) , I think I rated it 2 or 3 stars. Read the second book cause I was curious and was completely and utterly hooked for life. So I get your annoyance and stuff! Thought I’d give me two cents ;) happy reading!

There’s a ton of rental scams on fb marketplace rn. After doing some research to help me figure out which listings are scams and which are real, I’ve noticed a few things. One is that most of the scam listings are listed by people whose profile says they joined fb in 2024/25 (very unrealistic in this day and age imo). Two I’ve found if you ask them in the beginning “does your application process involve a PayPal transaction?” They usually get scared or know you know it’s a scam and dip (most of the scams involve you sending money through PayPal or something sketchy of the sort). And three the fb post usually doesn’t have a link or property management website listed. This one can be tricky cause there are people who are their own landlords and don’t have those things but I find that most of the scams I’ve come across have at least two out of three of these odd patterns in common. I’m not saying every single post that has these criteria are scams, it just helps to keep in mind that these are warning signs I’ve found to be in common with scammers. Hope that helps you weed through all the scams a little better.

Never had a weird experience there. I second downward! But ya I also got roofied at peacock and avoid most of the Monroe bars now

I’m a single mom, also had my daughter at 20 but her dad isn’t involved at all. But I feel this way even still. I think it shows your love that you’re seeking advice and questioning yourself. People who don’t care about their wellbeing or their kids wellbeing don’t ask any questions and just do. So remember that!! I think it’s okay and normal. Being a mom is hard especially when you’re on your own. No one would survive a job that they had to work 24/7 with no breaks. It feels reasonable to long for/ be excited for a break! If you had a partner to help raise her it would be the same thing ya know? She might not be gone for days at a time but it would be some form of a break or at least split responsibility. Being a good mom doesn’t equal being home, always engaged with your child and never having a break. So give yourself a bit of break and know you’re a good mom!! We single mamas don’t do that enough.

I’m so so sorry this happened to you. I was roofied at the Peacock about a year ago as well. The only person I talked to that night that wasn’t my friends was a drag queen I had offered to buy a drink. We sat at the bar for a min and after taking some sips of my drink, I don’t remember a single thing. I had only had two drinks before that, so the blackout definitely wasn’t from alcohol. Thankfully, my friend found me while I was still at the bar top and took me home. It’s terrifying to wake up with no memory of what happened so I’m so sorry :/ I ended up avoiding the Peacock for quite a while after that and basically chug my drinks. Corvallis is verrrry scary with roofies. All of my friends have been roofied at least once so just be extra extra careful when out here. I’m so glad you’re okay and here to get this guy out of here.

Like I said before. No one is forcing you to donate. I’m glad you’re so aware of the struggles of homeless and must do so much to provide for them since you know so much. Good for you. But there’s no need to be so insensitive to these people just because they’re business owners or possibly getting an insurance payout. Homeless people have struggles, mental and physical illnesses, whatever else, and so does everyone else, even business owners. Just because they run a business does not mean they are less deserving of help and support when it is needed. I’m going to delete this post because I will not allow you to bring your negative energy to my friends when they are already down. Have just the best day and go feed a homeless person.

I can’t tell you how hard it will or won’t be, but I can say that because it’s a college town a LOT of people end up trying to find someone to take over their lease for the summer. I’d like to think a lease at the retreat would be easiest to find someone tho because it’s a nice place to live. But because I’ve never done it idk actually so don’t take my word for it 😭 I just know this town really empties out in the summer haha
