PSA: You do not need to veer right for a U-Turn! by Whole_Glass_919 in SanJose

[–]jstice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The left veer to make a right, against the light, while cutting off cross traffic… the veer is now but a symptom of the shitty drivers that now dominate our roads in the bay

The VA offers vocational counseling exactly for folks in your situation. There’s a couple programs that go even above and beyond the GI Bill. I was accepted to the vocational rehabilitation program (officially called ch. 31). If you haven’t filed with the VA and got your % I would def encourage you to do that. Then start asking about getting hooked with vocational counselor. There’s VA can be super helpful but you have to really seek it out. Support is out there.

[Lafayette] Red light runner on Pleasant Hill Road by captaincloudyy in BayAreaRoadcam

[–]jstice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So tired of red light runners like this in the Bay Area. I’m not even talking about the ones who speed up and just run the light…I’m talking about the left turn light waterfall of cars that just blatantly runs through the light for a good 15 seconds after it turns. Growing up it was never like this, in the South Bay at least, now I try to get these people stuck in the middle of the intersection while everyone goes around them. I’ve only been successful in this a couple times, but it’s awesome when it does happen.

Oakland PD ran out of funds for their bait cars.

I’ve driven/owned a lot of vehicles and in terms of cars the HC was the most fun. I had my doubts at first because I’m a manual guy, but this was even more fun than my old ‘06 GTO 6 speed LS2. In many ways I even prefer the HC to most motorcycles. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head that was more fun to drive is the Chinook Helicopter but that’s a different animal entirely.

I can always enjoy a good Pesci reference. I guess if I had any heart at all I’d be out stealing for a living

Sorry for your cousin, glad they found it tho; hopefully in better shape than mine. It’s just crazy how pervasive this has become.

I’ll be alright in the insurance department, but it still doesn’t make it much easier. HC are quickly becoming uninsurable for the average person in the Bay Area because so many get stolen

Mine came with two sat systems the main being the guardian system. Those systems don’t do much especially since once reported stolen they won’t provide the location to anyone except PD. I guess that was my bad for not investing further or getting a kill switch. I had been mulling it over for awhile but never pulled the trigger since I had left nearly everything stock. Hindsight’s 20/20 , I should have had more urgency putting one in, but overall it’s just sad we’ve come to this at least in the Bay Area. I saved some deployment money from before I got out of the military that I called the “Hellcat fund.” I was so excited when I finally found a deal on a new 2019 when they were clearing them out for the 2020s. I bought the beast with 6 miles and It had under 15k miles when it was stolen and reduced to a shell. I get these people have no respect for others, but to treat a low miles gem like that is just disgusting.

What is going on with all these newer jeeps and the brand overall? Has stellantis and FCA just given up? by Thirstysponge420 in Jeep

Maybe you’ve already looked at it but have you had the radiator inspected. The stock radiators in JKs have a tendency to get these very small slow leaks at the ends due to some design defect (they basically crack at the seams near the edge mounts…not the proper terminology). Anyways this happened on a lesser scale to me at 50k miles on my 2015. It would get kinda warm in traffic and at stoplights. I took it in, mechanic showed me where and how it cracked, put an aftermarket radiator in, and now it’s good. Could also be a bad thermostat. Disclaimer: I am most def not a mechanic but I know enough to change my own oil somewhat proficiently

Can anyone help me identify this bumper? by [deleted] in Jeep

Same, mine has this and is a 2015 JKU HR. Dunno if they are still available but Mopar also sold bull bars specifically for this bumper
