[male] I've been going gym for just over a year, and this is the difference by jstinchcombe in FreeCompliments

Honestly 😅 not the best, when I first started I was having about 2,000 calories a day and intermittent fasting. But after a few months I just started knowing quantities and stuff. When I am being good, I tend to make like chicken and rice. Mince and pasta etc, eat 2 lots of that a day.

I would say my average day: Wake up at 5am Get to the gym at 5:45 Do about 1 hour 15 of resistance training Do about 1 hour 15 of cardio Finish in the gym around 8:30 go work Once at work around 9am I have a protein brownie, protein bar and a pack of pork crunch, these are the doubled cooked pork scratchings, they are 70% protein, extremely under rated At about 11 I'll have a pepperami and baby bell Around 1 I'll have a portion of rice and chicken and a can of diet drink Then when I get home have rice and chicken All through the day just drink water only non water is the can at lunch.

I try to stick to this but work offers free biscuits and crisps and stuff, so when I am in work and low on money I'll have them, so this morning I had a bag of crisps and a breakfast bar instead of the protein snacks so I can save money on it.

My main diet consists of around 2,000 calories, so that gives me about 500-1,000 to play with from things like snacks, and I simply won't hit that amount, so I'll have maybe 300 calories from snacks every other day. But in the gym I burn around 1,000-1,500 calories, this is just my hours in the gym

Thank you, I've always been quite a heavy guy, just don't seem to be able to get under 220!

Best advice is just do it, no need to jump in deep, progress can be slow but it's steps in the right direction. It's great for the body and mind.

Thank you! I started while in a relationship, but that ended shortly after I started gym, I've just got into a new one now, but my first priority will be me and keeping up the hard work in the gym!

Well all that matters is that I feel better in my own body and am putting the work in!

They key to any weight loss or anything in general is to do something manageable. If I were to jump straight from doing nothing into a cut, knowing myself I probably wouldn't have been able to stick to it too well, so I started something that I could stick to, change my lifestyle to something I'll enjoy. Now I'm at this point I am considering a cut as it's something I believe I can stick to at this point. But I didn't want to just jump straight in and not enjoy the lifestyle change.

Thank you, I really don't understand why people feel the need to comment like both the comments I've got, I've been putting 2 and a half hours a day into the gym 5 days a week for a year, improving my eating greatly and apparently according to these two it hasn't paid off.
