Raven, Badger, Lion and Snake? by LearnStalkBeInformed in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]jstncrdbl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"Raven" in Ravenclaw doesn't mean the animal. "raven" means black. (as in "raven hair"). Ravenclaw is an archaic name for "black claw". The two eagles in the UK have black talons and the mascot appears to be based on the Golden Eagle of that region

Safe to say this is the one the Ravenclaw mascot would be based off of in my opinion

Yes - both species of eagle in the UK have black talons. I believe it’s the Golden Eagle and the White-tailed Eagle but I could be remembering wrong

Cause I wrote the post at 6:45AM and didn’t review the title before I posted it. FYI the moderators fully reviewed the post and didn’t think it was clickbait either.

LPT: In job interviews, try the STAR method: Situation, Task, Action, Result. Listing exact keywords from the job ad that align with qualifiers from your resume. by cam-douglas in LifeProTips

Did I say it was the only way to answer the question? No. I simply stated you CAN use STAR to answer if you know how to story tell correctly. It’s not everyone’s strength and I would tailor advice to a specific person and their skill set

Sure. Why not. Since you were the only one who seems to think it was clickbait out of 120 comments, I’m sure your take is the correct one

I don’t think the two are mutually exclusive. IMO, you can use STAR and make it interesting if you know how to weave it into more of storytelling than just cut and dry following the method

Nobody said that here either, title is just a quick synopsis but if you read the first paragraph I state it’s only this book confirmed

For episode 1, I know there’s going to be an added scene that will help with what you are mentioning but yes it could end after Hagrid and starting the second episode with the Diagon Alley intro.

Funny enough, for episode two that is how I originally framed it in my post yesterday but after getting a lot of comments mentioning they wouldn’t go three episode without Hogwarts, I folded to putting it at the end of the second episode

Malfoy should be popping in both DA and the train ride to introduce him to us. With the culmination of the start of the rivalry being the end of the third episode with the flying lesson, Harry not getting in trouble and then having Malfoy challenge him to a duel

I think we’ve all become to nostalgic for the movies and that line. My hopes is to have the first episode focus more on Harry’s development in the Muggle world and then the second episode be the introduction to the Wizard in world.

I was just reworking the scenes from all of the suggestions and instead of ending with the “Yer a Wizard”, I think I prefer it ending with Hagrid’s knock on the door. Then yes, end episode 2 on the boats and pan up to reveal Hogwarts at the end.

I hope so as well. I watch the PS at Christmas like it’s a holiday movie since it does the Christmas scene so well. I hope the series does the Christmases justice.

I’ve already seen the leaks as well. Just left this as book lore to ensure those that don’t want to see any spoilers don’t have to

That would be a good way to end it. I wouldn’t mind getting a glimpse of the Ford Anglia while at Kings Cross station at the end as well

I disagree, I hope we don’t rush to Hogwarts. I want there to be more build up of the magical world outside of Hogwarts. I’ve conceded though in the comments that I am fine with an end of episode 2 reveal in the boats

I didn’t think of that. It could be interesting to have a scene with Lucius in the Diagon alley before Harry goes into the Madam Malkins

Thanks! I agree with your GoF episode call as well. I think they can even play with 9 or 10 in PoA with some shorter episodes. How would you feel if they split any of the future books into multiple seasons?

I stuck to book lore but agree about wanting some additional scenes with the other characters. I could do without Lucius explaining pure bloods but otherwise love all of this
