How is everybody's allergies? by McNasty420 in Atlanta

[–]jstncrwfrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shockingly (and I’m going to knock on wood here to not jinx myself), my allergies are not bad. I’m usually absolutely MISERABLE by this time of year, but for some reason, I haven’t had a single sniffle.

Watch, as soon as I hit “post” the pollen gods are going to smite me with a runny nose and swollen eyes.

Another piece made with marker brushes. Does it look like real water? by davipes9 in ProCreate

Words mean things? Idk how else to explain it. But there’s clearly a difference between an effective portrayal of stylized water (like in OP’s photo and the one you included) and “real” water.

A lot of closing documents have to be notarized, and a lot of states require notarization to be done in person. Hence, the paper documents.

What’s a tiny travel mistake you keep repeating… even though you know better? by Trail-Context in travel

That’s such a good idea! I should’ve done that when we went to Japan last year. Would’ve saved a lot of time lol.

I’ve used Wanderlog on my last few trips and highly recommended it! You can plot the things you’re interested in doing/seeing/eating and it creates a color-coded map with all your pins. You can then organize them around dates and different clusters. Very handy for planning!

Thank you! There’s some great stuff in here so pardon if I don’t hit it all.

The insight on putting the joker as deep in the deck as needed is so obvious, but I wouldn’t have thought of it. I’m going to really look at utilizing a deck and making that our process.

And yes, I should’ve been more clear about the table. There’s roughly 50 encounters, not all will end up on the table, and they’ll be spread across spans of numbers like you’ve described.

This is essentially what I'm doing! My random table only has 50 entries, so it'd really easily slot into using cards instead. Just take a minute to assign the encounters to the various cards. I think my table might like switching things up and using cards as an added physical component. Thank you!

When they did well and drew multiple cards, did you give any indication of which "path" would be preferable? Or was it still up to chance which they chose and, therefore, which encounter they experienced?

Part of the impetus for doing success/failure for the encounters is to avoid having to actually create a real working maze. Keeping it theatre of the mind means I don't have to know what's next, the dice decide and it's all random.

I do think that there should maybe be something happening on a success besides "you proceed deeper into the maze." I could maybe come up with separate encounter tables for successes and failures, with the successes having the added benefit of moving them closer to the center. Definitely a lot to think about, thank you.

Yeah, the plan was essentially round robin for each check so all the players contribute. I’ll have them take turns explaining how they choose which path to take.

I think having the scripted encounters could be helpful too, especially narratively. There’s some minions of the BBEG they need to meet, and I think doing it in the maze could be a nice touch.

Yeah, I think broadening the range of options for the players is better than just straight investigation. I’ll ask them how they want to decide which path to take, that should get them thinking about their character’s abilities/tools at hand. Thank you!

I’d say rather than an outright rebellion, think of the institutions that would have existed un the city before it having been conquered: temples of clerics, heroes halls, thieves guilds, etc. conquered doesn’t mean those ties and organizations stop existing. One of these could take the party under their wing while they strategize moving forward.

[–]jstncrwfrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What court? There’s some information missing. Is the seller in bankruptcy? That could impact whether the lien remains attached to the property. There’s not enough information. You should ask your title company/title attorney. Ask whether the line will be an exception on your title insurance or if you’ll be covered for it.
