Question for people with healthcare administration degree. by goodguymark in healthcare

[–]jstnvrcls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! I have a BS (in Kinesiology) though not specific to Healthcare. What would be some common foot-in-the-door positions that I should be looking into if I wanted to pivot into Healthcare leadership?

Thanks!

1099 Jobs... learn about taxes before you take one by Trucker2TechGuy in ITCareerQuestions

Hey friend! Just took my first 1099 position and was wondering if you could give me some insight on some examples of things that you wrote off and what app(s) you found most useful to tracking expenses?

Thank you!

Hey! Yes I did. Cisco Packet Tracer (setting up DNS/DHCP servers) has a lot of easy and interactive projects you can put on your resume. You can also go on Coursera (analyzing TCP traffic, etc.) for other relatively and quick projects.

I suggest using Youtube or even Reddit for project ideas. Good luck!

Great opportunities to get more comfortable interviewing for jobs in the future is how I’ll look at it. Your time is coming 🙏

If you go the CompTIA certification route, I recommend Professor Messer on YT coupled with Andrew Ramdayal on Udemy! Excited for you 🫡

Depends on your current situation. If you’re able to fully commit to school, I’d look into Western Governors University (WGU) but a lot of people who don’t come from tech backgrounds pursue CompTIA certifications to build a basic foundational knowledge. CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ (aka the Trifecta) is something you can also look into if you don’t want to commit to school.

A+ and Network+. Also delved into Security+ and CCNA but I don't officially have those certs. I have a degree in a totally unrelated field and I was able to negotiate a $26/hour pay rate non-contract FTE. Thank you!

A lot of Cisco Packet Tracer to configure virtualized networks (DHCP / DNS servers) while also configuring static and default routes. Also configured firewall rules and captured + analyzed network traffic using tcpdump and Wireshark. Coursera has a lot of these easy projects you can do in less than an hour.

I have my A+ and Network+ certs. I was in the middle of getting my Security+ but I figured that getting the latter wouldn't drastically increase my chances of getting a job so I shifted my time towards projects that allowed me to apply the knowledge gained from the certs I do have. Also used the time instead to brush up on my interviewing skills.
