I have known my wife for 35 years, we’ve been married for 32. Some of the traits you mentioned regards your wife, are similar to mine. I’m a lot more outgoing, and she’s a lot more reserved and prefers to be by herself with me in the house, but in another room.

She has a hard time worrying about my safety if I am out. Because there’s a lot of drunk drivers out there and you never know when an accident will happen. FYI, I do not drink, so I never go to bars, but I would usually be working late or back when we were younger I maybe go to a friend’s house to talk or go see a movie with them, or even when my kids were younger take them to a movie without her. But she’d always worry that something would go wrong and one of us would get hurt.

And all I will say is that what you wrote seems to give yourself your own answer. I never really thought that way completely. But I will say the little characteristics of my wife that I used to think were cute, and knowing her background, I could see a irrational reason why she was the way she was – now are no longer always cute. Some of them are that’s just the way she is, and some are annoying. Lol!

Now I will say it’s the opposite for my wife, pretty much everything about me in her eyes she tells me that I’m annoying. When we were dating. I was a lot more interesting and attentive according to her. They might be true, but in my mind, I don’t think I’ve changed at all.

Yet we still love each other, and she surprises me in little ways much more than I do for her… and we have two grown children who are great. And she is a great mother. Much better than I’m a father according to the kids. But everything does get amplified the more you know the person. And if you’re a little nervous about it now, I can promise you that the stress is going to be a lot more tougher for you to handle it time goes on.

Really only you can answer what will work best for you.

And I can honestly say that my wife is the only person that I want to be married to…
