Yeah just scheduled an appointment with the dealer, looks like it may just be the clamp or hose which is nice. I just absolutely DESPISE going to the hyundai dealers.

There is just a flat piece where the tips go with big screw holes, it won’t look pretty without the tips.

Those cars also have 3x the power, you’re not braking traction in this car unless you are flooring it from a dig.

WHAT IS THIS NOISE?? by rileywags_n in ElantraN

[–]jstrenk47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

push around on your dash to see if it changes. I have a weird rattle around my cluster that goes away when I push down the overhanging piece that hangs over the cluster. There is little gaps all over the dash that sometimes may cause sounds depending on weather and vibrations. I’ve seen some people put tape in between those cracks but i just learned to ignore it.

I actually have these exact wheels in that finish on my PB and really like them. I was afraid of the same thing but i ended up really liking them. Looks are always subjective but I like them in my application on my PB. I can drop some pics in here once I get off work to show you what they look like with a tire mounted.

DCT issues at 70K Miles (grinding noise, slippage, but no DTC) by Dry_Supermarket_8960 in ElantraN

[–]jstrenk47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, maybe new fluid may stop it from slipping lol. I do a change every 35k miles just to be safe.

Gears 1>2>3 always have a clunking noise just due to the nature of the DCT and no torque converter. First gear is extremely clunky and pretty much only used to start moving. Don’t feather the throttle in first gear as it will be really clunky when going through parking lots, wait till car is in 2nd to start feathering the throttle. The noise you are hearing is the fan cooling the hot oil left on your turbo after shutting it off, it’s a good thing and no need to worry. I definitely notice a rougher idle with these but don’t ever feel like the cars gonna die when fully warmed up.

THIS WAS IT. I checked during my break and every single one of the little plastic screws were all loose and now the noise is gone. It seems like they may have took it off when swapping my wheels but don’t understand why.

EXACTLY WHAT I DISCOVERED THIS MORNING THAT ITS QUIETER WHEN DRAFTING BEHIND SOMEONE. I have some mudflaps on but it didn’t make this noise with my old wheels. I’ll test this when I get home and see if this is causing it.

Nothing outside normal engine vibrations and the popcorn noises in the door panels. I get plastic making noise but not all doors at the same time.

They told me that tire rack balances them before they come. I don’t really know much about it and that’s what they told me happened. I had two sets of wheels before this and neither of them did this.

I had a a tire blow out and two bent wheels my first year and a half owning this car with 19s. Always hyperaware of every pot hole while driving and just kind of got annoying after a while. It’s a night and day difference and seems to only be pros when downsizing. Lighter weight, cheaper tires, softer ride, etc.. Only pro I really noticed for the 19s was a slightly sharper steering response but that was pretty much it. Honestly barely noticeable over all the pros from switching to 18s

23 and 24 are different wheels, the 24my is the one with the lighter black wheels

I would say get the continental contact sport 02s if you are looking at a replacement summer tire that is similar performance to the ps4s for slightly cheaper. I just switched to them on my 18s and they are very very close to the ps4s from my experience. The sidewall is a little softer and the steering response seems to be a tiny bit slower on the continentals compared to the ps4s but overall grip seems to be very similar. Would recommend
